The Underdogs platform has the pleasure to announce a solo show and large-scale

mural interventions in Lisbon by project ±MAISMENOS±. An exclusive screen print will

also be released on www.under-dogs.net during the opening.

The exhibition is part of the programme of urban art pop-up shows and street

interventions organised by the Underdogs platform which is taking place in Lisbon,

Portugal during 2013, and which will feature exclusive and original work by some of the

world's leading contemporary urban artists.

Portuguese street artist Miguel Januário, with his intervention art project

±MAISMENOS±, once again points his finger at the savage nature of unbridled

capitalism. The SELL OUT solo show continues the artistic satire on the political and

economic monster, following his “Burial of Portugal” intervention in the city of Guimarães,

and the various subversions of the homeland. The artist now opens up his stock exchange

in a solo show, inspired by unrestricted selling and emotionally financed by the state of

the nation. The Underdogs Gallery is the stage for the entire theatre of the corporate

machine, reflected and criticised in the work of ±MAISMENOS±.

The Underdogs Gallery is located at 56, Rua Fernando Palha – Lisbon.

The show opens on 13 September at 7pm, and can be visited until 12 October.

±MAISMENOS± is an intervention art project by Miguel Januário, Portuguese

artist born in Porto, which offers a critical reflection on the model of political, social and

economic organisation that manages contemporary urban societies.­Its programmatic

expression is conceptually reduced to an equation of simplicity and opposites: more/less,

positive/negative, black/white.­He has been producing thought-provoking, cutting-edge

work both indoors and outdoors since 2005.
