I'm a fan of Zevs but a bit unsure if the meaning of his liquidated work hasn't been liquidated and turned it into a way to cash in on popular logos.
I have no issue with him selling hundreds or millions of prints based on liquidated logos if it is a commentary about logos or corporations etc. To me it gets blurred when he does things like his Supreme skateboard where he is liquidating a log of a company that is paying him to promote their brand. If liquidating Supreme is good for Supreme then why is it any different for any other brand? I'm not sure if LV is paying Zevs to do these prints or not. Either way it kind of looses the impact and becomes a cheap gimmick when he tries to use it as a positive for some brands and a negative for others.
Does that make sense? Love to hear other opinions. I'd especially love to hear from Zevs how he reconciles the two seemingly conflicting liquidating applications.
