not really, by definition a hyperbole is a claim that's not meant to be taken literally.
but good work fella, i like it. keep it up .

WOW, YOU ARE REALLY THIN SKINNED FOR A STREET ARTIST, AREN'T YOU? I GUESS YOU HAVE LOW SELF ESTEEM AND THAT IS WHY YOU DON'T CAPITALIZE I WHEN YOU REFER TO YOURSELF.

Conversely, is that the reason you capitalise everything?

Cartrain,
Why do you say that? Was that quote meant to be serious? For example, do you really believe you are taking the art world by storm?

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by ceba on Jul 12, 2008 15:34:55 GMT 1, i dont understand why cartrain gets such a hammering with such cheap repetative tiresome spite. am amazed how quick some are to condem this kid This kid is 17 or 18 and to be attacked with cheap wisecracks and what equates to unconstractive judgements is the refuge of the incompetent bullly boy fool in my opinion and says more about the bully boy than it does about a kid who clearly has a talent far beyond theirs. taking pleasure in this type of sport does not interest me. i dont see him leave likewise comments as a response Guernicas great mate. All this crap about selling out Comments made by idiots who still thinK WW1 was a cross between a game of cricket and a jousting tornement Cartrain has only added to the variety of art on the london streets and that can only be a good thing

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by jon11 on Jul 12, 2008 15:46:20 GMT 1, who the fuck would buy this to actually put it up...? come on!
CARTRAIN - i love your passion for the scene and strong desire to crack it but i really think you need to stay locked away pal and develop your style and talents - sellin shit for money thats what causes the backlash - but i understand as a young artist you probably need the coin for workin your art - i'd rather give you money than see you knockin out this crap though - although i'm a bit tight at the moment so you'd have to do some odd jobs for it - 'bob a job style'!
and ease up on the crap stencils around the brick lane shoreditch area - its vandalism not art - your placement is not thought through at all - if you're going to throw something that small up why not do it on a board or frame it to give it some grounding

Silky's Girl,
I fully appreciate that taste in art is personal and subjective. It may also be the case that I'm being a bit thick, which happens rather often. However, could you explain for me why you think Cartrain's work is "Really Great"?
This is a genuine question and, provided you have the time, I would be grateful if you could articulate your reasons. I ask because, although he's clearly trying, I just don't understand how Cartrain's work can be described in such a manner.
None of what I've seen by Cartrain would even get through the selection process of an art school end-of-year show. It also wasn't clear whether you were using the description of "Really Great" in an absolute sense, or in a relative sense (as in "Really great compared to the art I own" or "Really great for a 14-year old").
Separately, are you going to purchase one of Cartrain's 'Guernica' prints for ยฃ40? If so, this would be putting your money where your mouth is, in which case fair dues to you.

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by jam on Jul 13, 2008 3:07:54 GMT 1, I feel as though I will have a conniption if I see one more version of "Guernica". Some works should be appreciated for what they are and left alone by other artists, rather than being chased in some vein endeavor to gain credibility by attempting to mimic artistic greatness. One must archive some measure of success on their own merits and ideas before exploring interpretations of iconic pieces.
I also believe a mass lobotomy is in order as there is an unnerving trend to 'appreciate' art that is sub par at best. I respect the notion art is subjective, but the line of what should garner recognition as being good, let along great, is blurring further by the day.

EDIT: It would almost be interesting, in a sad way, to have a thread which could gather the most reworked/tired/worn images.
I just whipped this image up a minute ago....
