Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by morrissey1 on Jul 14, 2008 14:53:36 GMT 1, Well said Ceba! Im sure most of the biggest Artists started out with the sort of comments Cartrain has been getting here, and I really dont think it worries him. Im sure he will have the last laugh in the future
this is a serious question silky (im not taking the pee)....but do you make advertising dollars/pounds off these forums, and if you do, then would it be a conflict of interest for you not to push certain artists that you have set up forums for....? I may be way off, and if I am, I apologize....a serious question.....no harm intended

If you are making advertising money off certain forums and look to possibly make future advertising money on other up and coming forums.....then wouldnt it be in your best interest to push artists who you are most likely already making money off of or will possibly make money off of in the future.....thats all

In my opinion if Silky wanted to make money it would make more sense to push forums like Faile and Dolk, since they've been artists who've grown a lot over the last year. It would make a great deal more sense than pushing an artist like cartrain who's just starting out!

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by morrissey1 on Jul 14, 2008 15:37:44 GMT 1, but silky doesnt need to push artists like Faile and Dolk because those are artists who are basically accepted as reputable, solid artists...where it would make more sense to try get someone like Cartrain going to keep Silky's family of forums growing, and to keep his annual intake growing as well...Im not saying Silky is doing anything wrong....its smart....but its a little bit of a conflict of interest, imo,

But why would I be more interested in Cartrains career over anyone else if I do all the forums? If a few people did forums for a couple of artists, and some other people did forums for the other artists I would understand that they might be biased towards their artists but thats not the situation ;D thats why it is a good idea for the artists forums to do done by one person so its a level playing field. Im not biased towards any one of the Artists I do forums for, and anyone can see that on here we welcome new Artists that I have zero connections with and dont know anything about.

Personally i think you're reading a bit too much into it... if it is Silky's plan it's gonna be a bit of a long term one, as it seems cartrain isn't everyone's favourite artist atm! Which is understandable since he's only about 16?

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by bmjt on Jul 14, 2008 15:45:31 GMT 1, The thing is you won't you'll just sit at your keyboard slagging off anyone with the motivation to get out there themselves, whilst waiting for POW to release the next Banksy Nail on the head.
Haha, fair play sir(s), a good retort. I take that as a challenge. I'm not sure how you see me, but I am not a massive F5ing maniac who sits and waits for POW releases. I am simply a fan of some of the work this scene has to offer having come across it whilst looking for a topic for my university dissertation. Since that point my interest has somewhat snowballed, but not to the point of manically sitting at my keyboard praying for a Banksy, he's not, to my tastes, visually impressive, but politically he's extrememly sharp, and I prefer a visual graphical dimension to my art.
As I say I have completed A-level art, and am about to enter my 4th year of uni studying architecture. Due to this, i'm pretty confident in my personal initiative in general but also artistically. I can use a variety of graphics packages and am a keen sketcher, and have a nice little stack of books full of images from my voyages. I've even submitted work on this forum in response to Cartrain's previous offerings.
I may on may not be visually or politically better than Cartrain, or any other would-be pretenders to the 'Banksy' crown of street art, but all I want to show is that, if he can do it, why can't I?
Oh yeah, and i'm think i'm correct in saying art is subjective not objective ceba. Cheers.

If your just talking about money and business surely Cartrain would be the one I would stick up for the least So I think you will find the reason I support him is that he's a good lad, and I like his work ;D simple as that! And before anyone says - "ahh! but your just pushing him coz you have some canvases by him" errrr, if you like an artists work is it so strange to buy pieces from him and have then in your collection.

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by pimp on Jul 14, 2008 15:54:13 GMT 1, lets be honest here.
this work is sub standard for anyone with any serious pretentions to being a 'gallery' to offer for sale.
you don't need to be vicious because the quality of the work is so poor that it is unnesessary.
purely and simply not good enough. Hit the street, fine, but 'offering' it for sale is a big mistake imo and invites abuse!

Sorry Morrissey1, its just that I always get accused of stuff like this and I just cant understand it In my position I would have the least reasons to push any particular artist than ANYONE

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by low3 on Jul 14, 2008 16:06:36 GMT 1, Mean, Nasty and Spiteful, Only the working class repond with comments that show not only the need to be victims of themselves but also a need to demonstrate their tiresome wit with an ego that hangs over their heads like an upsidedown triangle. Going down the side of this kid with a key justs proves some hold an ideology that heard like sheep. i thought this forum was for articulate debate but many see it as a place to gain spiteful pleasure with their turgid comments SHAME. this kid ticks all the rigth boxes if you care to that a closer look his a visual poet and i'll put my money where my mouth is Romany wg you cliam to know so much about guernica with your April 26 th 1937 bit so you obviously have read the history of the work But you fail to mention that like CARTRAINS GUERNICA there is no specific depiction of warfare in this work nor is there any emphasis on war. Its an allegorical symbol of terror only(lightbulbs and candlesticks) Take another look mate To leave comment that only demonstate your superior knowlege with your upsidedown triangle only goes to show you toolike to bully a boy that might oneday prove to be a canary in a coalmine BEETHOVEN was Deaf so why the iPOD and GASMASKS on wornout old queens is so 2001 mate Art is totally objective These subjective mean spirited comments only go to prove you cannot look beyond wall decoration Why dont we all when we finish with this kids Talents tear in to Hush, Coryright BOTUSK LEER and anyone else that offer up their talents for our mean unfed egos. YOUR SPORT IS NOT MINE CARTRAIN MATEY DEFEND YOURSELF AGAINST THIS TORRID OF ABUSE
Are you cartrain in disguise??
Hush got found out using this technique.......................

Like i was trying to say, Silky, I dont think you are guilty of what Im saying, but when you're in the position you're in, then you are left open to these ideas/accusations.....again, not necessarily true of you, but your position as the one who does financially benefit from some of the forums leaves you holding the bag, so to speak......but again, Im talking about an idea, and not an actual event...just to be more vague.......Im done....good luck Cartrain.......enjoy your Monday

Financially how would it make any difference for someone in my position to support one artist over another? Am I missing something?

I was more puzzled by Silky's remark of "Well said Ceba!". It seemed like such a surreal comment (though perhaps intentionally bemusing) since it took me a couple of reads to work out what ceba was actually trying to say.
Queries for ceba: What's with the "canary-in-a-coal-mine" reference that you've mentioned twice already? Assuming you know what the expression means, how can it be used as a metaphor for Cartrain?
General advice for ceba (or Cartrain, in the event that ceba and Cartrain are one and the same): Stop skipping English class. Seriously. Education is a worthwhile investment. It may seem boring and tiresome but improved spelling/grammar combined with well articulated and structured responses will make your future commentary and arguments far more powerful. [In case the errors were intentional and for comic effect, then I believe your post would have been funnier if it had been written in a slightly more retarded manner.]
