Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by moleman on Oct 18, 2009 13:51:50 GMT 1, Very true about his work but even banksy new work not the beat ie eat the rich. Very funny but poor to look at , how ever some of banksy new work is good but lacks the message of old IMO. And to me that's what made him famous again IMO

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by thegreatarchitect on Oct 18, 2009 14:55:28 GMT 1, As Cartrain has said him self in the past, It seems a number of Artists have a bit of a chip on their shoulder about him He has the guts to do stuff that they don't dare do! and as I was trying to say on another thread, Its this sort of thing that takes an Artist to another level. Cartrain is a natural at using the Media to his advantage, as was Banksy! Thats what really sets him up for making it big in the future as his Art develops. Hype or Prophecy ? you are funny......
Its True what silky has stated. Two or three years ago the only people that had heard of him thought he was a joke. but in the whole history of art there have only been a handful of artists that given such accolades at such an early age.

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by newbrizzleboy on Oct 18, 2009 15:09:22 GMT 1, Its early days for Cartrain Take a look at some of Banksy's early pieces.
why do you insist on perpetuating the link between these two artists ?
the difference is that even early banksy's though poor in execution had an idea behind them whereas cartrain seems to have little technical skill and all his ideas are taken from other people.
He do not have hs own voice. and never will do.....
his art is poor.

Did you not read the Evening Standard article that this thread is about? I quote - "Introducing, The new Banksy" Maybe you should complain to them?

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by Cedric Mnich on Oct 19, 2009 10:16:10 GMT 1, Seems Hirst has jumped the shark. I guess his period of glory is over. He was adored a few months ago. He is about to be burnt by the very same past adorers. The Lehman Bros black day was the same as Hirst's auction. One could wonder if he's not the victim of that private auction he organized, squeezing all the art market professional in the process...

Maybe he should develop his art and then worry about 'using the media'. I have never seen anything good by Cartrain. Why does he insist on trying to associate himself with Banksy?! Banksy was/is good at using the press to his advantage but he also has the work to back it up.
Instead of concentrating all you efforts into discrediting Cartrain My advice to you is to concentrate all your efforts on your own work. You above all really do need to learn the difference between ART and the Lame advertising of beer Posters See how easy it its to criticize

Just out of interest - how many Cartrain originals are you currently sitting on? Figuratively speaking of course.

Of course. What is slightly strange is you constantly referring to an artist who is most famous for stealing a box of pencils as, being on "another level" and "making it big in the future".
If that's your honest opinion then fine. You must be able to see why people may smell the nasty whiff of unwarranted hype though?
In my opinion, unless Mr Train gets a serious injection of talent from somewhere, I think at best he'll be looked on as the Jordan of the "urban" art world.
