Banksy style "Paint To Escape" Rat in Tauton, by johnnyh on Apr 9, 2012 20:06:09 GMT 1, However why does every piece sprayed on a wall have to have some massive meaning behind it? May be he or some one else just spayed it. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion. The ladders crap how good a ladder do you want??
Is this what it has come to....... The more stuff just done the better in my book regardless.........I saw it made me smile thought that's nice what else is there.....
Getting like the fffin sunday times round here sometimes

It's actually a shame that he feels he has to resort to these tricks as he's actually a pretty talented artist!

Banksy style "Paint To Escape" Rat in Tauton, by sal on Apr 9, 2012 21:06:44 GMT 1,
just felt like clearing up I wasn't explaining why Im liking it cause of your post.. it's just that personally I don't like posting just "nice", "I like it", and generic stuff like that.. I do it sometimes, but trying to avoid it as much as possible..
as for this not being Banksy - I definitely fell for it.. I'd think bad ladder was intentional as the rat painted it to escape, but I guess I was wrong.. I still like it, but seeing it's someone else trying to use Banksy's style/motifs, it definitely lost it's charm for me...

LOL unless you happen to be in Weston super Mare on the 20th of April. In which case, "currently IN a gallery near you" as it appens.
I like it though, has a bit of simple charm to it.

Banksy style "Paint To Escape" Rat in Tauton, by bullet on Apr 9, 2012 22:43:34 GMT 1, People need to look beyond the finish of the stencil, if you really get what robins ethos is about then you can tell easily what is real and what is not. Anyone can trace a picture but cannot have the same original thinking.
And jps i know your reading this like some pervert. PM me, i want to ask you something.

Banksy style "Paint To Escape" Rat in Tauton, by fuzzed on Apr 9, 2012 23:33:02 GMT 1, Would love to know the story on how this was broken - Fragile's info is normally 100% - how come this one has fallen off twitter posts and Flickr so quickly? Come on Fragile - spill the beans on the bad source?
This was originally tweeted a couple of days ago -
Perhaps Fragile saw this tweet and went to see it?

Banksy style "Paint To Escape" Rat in Tauton, by Deleted on Apr 10, 2012 1:07:30 GMT 1, A couple of observations:
Freeview connected the dots
Remixes are generally done with the permission of the originator.
The actual meaning isn't bad at all, painting a ladder to escape, but also using your talent to make money and a better life for yourself - nice message. Just an absolute shame it's built around someone else's trademarks.

Banksy style "Paint To Escape" Rat in Tauton, by boatyyy on Apr 10, 2012 1:21:37 GMT 1, read this thread w/ interest and haven't a clue about who jps is etc (first i've ever heard) and convinced i would never be able to spot a real banksy or not... but, when i saw a pic of this while at work today, the message i got from it, was 'you gotta break free of your confinement and you gotta climb'... i dig it...

Banksy style "Paint To Escape" Rat in Tauton, by Deleted on Apr 10, 2012 2:16:46 GMT 1, Yes gibbin Banksy wasn't the first person to use rats, nor will he be the last. Should jps/eyesaw etc etc be allowed to use rats? Yes, obviously, should they use them in an incredibly similar manner to Banksy, similar humour, similar style, to the point where they're confused with him? What do you think? At least Nick Walker blew them up

Banksy style "Paint To Escape" Rat in Tauton, by Deleted on Apr 10, 2012 2:46:39 GMT 1, I happen to watch a bit of Cricket in Taunton(Somerset). So i'll have to leave a bit earlier next time. A return to rats. Love the rats. I would so love to have the Rat coming out Popcorn as a print. All time favorite, I think.

Deputy think your completely missing the point here.
1) Remixes started in the clubs with no permission. Most of Banksy's work it could be said are remixes of photos etc and play on those images with a twist. Also think you need to see this for what it is. Looks to me like JPS (as being called no idea who that is) is just having a bit of a laugh and taking the mickey. He is not using rats in a similar manner he has put a fake Banksy up for fun. Noted Freeranges quote on watching this you pervert. I say hats of he is having a little laugh at us all and the street art thing etc. Fairplay it has been a success which is quite nice I think. I would buy him a beer.
So he could not do it with his own images as thats not the point...the point being this is a Banksy...........hahaha fooled ya!!!!
We owe him a beer and I'll even go a half for Freerange
Prescription your really should read the thread ;D ;D
