I have always been facinated by the Old masters, and wanted to create a painting
using my modern techniques, including my own sfumato technique I have developed. but still have a feel of an old classic.
Havent worked with colour like this for at least 20 years.
so this is something completely different for me. But I am happy with how the first one as turned out. Will be exploring this further, and taking it to another stage with the next, is part of a new series I am doing called 'Revisited & Beyond'

Less is some times enough.
Like the artist portraits I have just done belowβ¦
I think these studies will be a massive learning curve for me.
that was one of the reasons for taking them on.
As I get more into to them, the plan is to work out the balance.
I want to take it to the max, the work on stripping it back
if you know what I mean.
