Craig Everett π¬π§ Rourke Van Dal β’ Urban Artist, by sfinks on Jan 12, 2012 22:05:05 GMT 1, I didn't know the process of making them. That was very interesting. Do you ever change any strokes during making them? Or does everything stay as it is, no mather what? Do you purely paint out of today's mood or feelings? I am starting to like these more and more. Looking forward to see the following.
But don't give completely up on what you have done before, cause some of that is just amazing
On this thread my favorites are: 25,27,29 and 30 All of those would easily make my wall if i had a gallery

This applys to the last 3 The main strokes of the face is applied with the background. as much work as I can do on face is done, when the paint is wet. so the underly strokes, with ths above layers. I keep applying strokes in black and white paint in a way to define the face. then when thats dried. I tart it up at the end defining the face further. This is how I am doing them at the moment. but this as evolved from the earlier ones. the mood thing, I was really in a confident mood when I created No. 29. and I think that shows in it. When you feel good I do better strokes. When I am pissed off they look different, but they may work as well.
β¦ hope you understand a little more
At this time I am really into progressing with this. Cheers very much again for your kind comments

Thanks vvery much mate,
taken on board what your saying, My thinking this year and the new paints, is to drop all fancy gimmicks, one of them is colour for now. The task might be impossible, but I want these paintings to work. using simply and now a days primative ways. 1. My Head, 2. Paint, 3. A brush, 4. A wooden board. You might think I have gone mad. But at least I am asking myself these questions. and taking a diifferent approach to things. which I think as an artist is a must. Strip all the bull s**t, sick of: Money, Brand Names, Repetitive and trend Art. Simply⦠I paint, and paint, and paint, and paint my balls off. If you look, then look again and again, cos there is alot to look at, they might be just heads. but Go beyond that look at the Paint, the strokes, and the underlying.
I am a straight forward, honest Yorkshire man, I don't follow, I always try and keep trying new things, take big Risks, shoot myself in the foot quite alot. But I do it for the ART and not the BRASS, I think nowadays this quality massively lacking form the whole Art Game. I have had no art college or university teaching me what not to do, or how to do it, that is probably why some times I have seemed all over the place, in other words what many other top artists do at UNi, I have done here or in the public eye over the last 10 years. Everything I do I have learnt and developed myself. All my techniques are my own. Tried and played around with everything. Stencils Full detailed paints Abstracts Clssical/Traditional Extreme Collage 3d sculpted Paints
I think these paintings are the Total Truth
these words are in no way directed at you fingerz I really appreciate you taking the time and giving me your opnion I value everybodys, it drives me further
Its not how to Paint well Its⦠how not to paint, brilliantly
sorry for rant Cheers
