Martin Whatson • Punk's not Dead Print, by johnnyh on Mar 16, 2012 17:13:21 GMT 1, Nacional you are correct on the Crass / Exploited where Punks not dead started.
Almost all of Banksy's work is based on an adaptation and some copying but you like that don't you so that's ok. Now not comparing Whatson to Banksy but just makes your points pointless as you buy it when it's Banksy...........mmmmmmmm
what are we supposed to be against anyway?
Do you not know Ha that's my point. It's all about prints. This whole thing started on the street and people expressing themselves whether via tags stencils etc.
Whatson and many others started with their street work.
So surely it is a good thing that people express themselves artistically in whatever way they want. Now nothing wrong with criticism as mentioned in my original post however the below just about sums up the point
why don't you just succinctly wrap it up? it's s**t.
You sound like Mary Whitehouse.
You think it's clever but in actual fact just really shows how sad you are I am afraid.
It's easy to knock stuff and people. This has actually got little to do with this print and more to do with you attitude really
So I will leave you with your negativity and just hope you grow up.
Gimlet enjoy

Yes, it's far better to criticize actual people than pieces of paper. Brilliant. Moreover, as we ALREADY established, nothing is being expressed in this piece. It's hackneyed, and not even in a clever, satirically ironic way. It's just bad. You're the one with the bad atititude, trying to bully people into compliance, which is EXACTLY what everyone here is supposed to be against. You're the hypocrite. Thanks.
GO TEAM TUSSYVILLE!!!!

They do say a fool and their money are easily parted.
I am critical of this. Not critisism.
I am not knocking people who have exspressed a negative view on the piece or another piece.
Not sure who I am bullying mate or why you have such a negative going on chill out
No need to be rude. Be happy

Funny how you left out this whole diatribe about "art snobs." GOOD THING I CAN REMEMBER THE ULTRA-RECENT PAST.
You are not "happy," as you insinuate. Please do not direct others to be.

I'd recommend you get your butler to run you a nice warm bath, make you a gin and tonic and discreetly slip you a valium, because you clearly have some angst going on there.
Team Tussyville offically rocks!

Martin Whatson • Punk's not Dead Print, by johnnyh on Mar 16, 2012 18:08:34 GMT 1, Tussyville read the quote perfect description of Art Snobs
Of course you both know what's best .....
1. Self-righteous opinions about Urban Stree Art. Urban Street Art is a genera that doesn't fit nicely and cleanly into a certain profile .Unfortunately, because of this classificatory obfuscation, Art Snobs think they have free reign to declare themselves infallible about the subject. A true art historian will speak cautiously when making claims about Postmodern Art; the Art Snob will speak as if ordained by authority.
2. Bragging about other Galleries. No matter how fantastic a gallery is, an Art Snob will say, quite pretentiously, the he or she has visited a gallery somewhere in Europe which puts the current gallery to shame.
3. Personal Subjective Experience. If you disagree with an Art Snob's opinion, he or she will tell you calmly that the opinion is based on their own experience and that, unfortunately for you, you don't have the ability to experience the painting with all seven senses at once, like the Art Snob can.
4. The 'Critical Gaze' Let's be honest here. Everything on the Forum is probably better than anything you could do. For this reason, it makes sense to gaze at the paintings with admiration. The Art Snob, though, gazes unimpressively, and says things like, "Too much damn movement" or "The use of purple makes me queasy." Good grief.
No matter what you say and this is my last comment you are the Art Snobs Chaps.
Just off to enjoy that G & T Cheers chaps? Cheerio

P.S. Perspicacity and self-righteousness are two different things. Yeah, I agree! Everyone's opinion is valid, I think it more about expressing opinions in a way that also shows respect to others.

Yes I did, I thought it was quite apt, I didn't read it though. Is it at all relevant?
