What does mint mean (ie should I complain?)?, by tsteve on Apr 20, 2012 0:50:03 GMT 1, This was absolute not "mint," nor even "near mint." Maybe "very good," with a specific description of the flaws. Most people are afraid to use the term "mint," because it should mean that even a microscopic examination of the print would not reveal a single flaw. You are entitled to either return it, or work out an acceptable price reduction with the seller. I would try to make contact first, and if there is any delay at all, proceed with ebay and paypal.

What does mint mean (ie should I complain?)?, by naughtyshorty on Apr 20, 2012 3:25:32 GMT 1, nice resolution, but poor trade description from him part in the first place. well done for approaching it calmly and getting a good resolution.

What does mint mean (ie should I complain?)?, by linter on May 23, 2012 14:56:58 GMT 1, just a follow up on this, with a question at the end. so, i sent the poster back, from the US to France, got the money back, including the return-postage money. from the tracking number, i see that the poster arrived and that the guy wanted the PO to hold it for him to pick up. Strange thing is, he never picked it up and after 15 days, the print was sent back to me. So now I have the damn thing once again.
I emailed the seller to ask him what he wanted me to do now ... and I haven't heard back from him in like 6 days. Question is, am i just supposed to sit on this thing for the rest of my life, waiting for the guy to surface or what?
Thanks!

What does mint mean (ie should I complain?)?, by linter on May 23, 2012 22:55:38 GMT 1, gosh darn it. couple hours after i posted the above, what do you know, the seller writes me and says to send it back again and he'll pay shipping again. seems he was on vacation during the delivery period.
okay, thing of it is, i love this print, and haven't seen another one like it on ebay since i won it, at $611 USD. i've asked him if he wants to sell it at a new price that reflects the damage as shown on page one of this thread. given that damage, what do you all here think would be a fair price, if he's willing to come down?
thanks once again.

What does mint mean (ie should I complain?)?, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on May 24, 2012 0:01:30 GMT 1, 'Mint' is a car sales man's favourite word. But even when they are not selling cars everything is still 'mint' FFS!!! "what a mint bird, she gave me a mint blow job last night", "my gran just knocked up a mint sunday roast", "the weather is mint"... w*nkers!!!
Apologies in to any car sales men on this board..

What does mint mean (ie should I complain?)?, by Dr Plip on May 24, 2012 1:29:08 GMT 1, Most people that sell on eBay don't realise that if when you take a photo of the item you are listing, you put a sprig of mint next to it, then you can legally describe it as "near mint".
True.
Bad news about the print bouncing back and forth. And a good thing for the seller that it didn't get lost in transit on its way back to you after he wasn't there to receive it.

What does mint mean (ie should I complain?)?, by linter on May 24, 2012 10:37:11 GMT 1, i guess my question is, given the damage you see on the first page of this thread, how much, percentage-wise, would you asked to be knocked off the original price?

What does mint mean (ie should I complain?)?, by craigf on May 24, 2012 10:42:31 GMT 1, Restoring it in the UK would be between £60 - £80 (is my guess based on previous experience with prints that had rolling issues). I'd add a little for inconvenience and make an offer around this level
