Agree on the images being of greater interest and when I found out the starting prices was absolutely astounded and resigned myself to never buying a hirst whilst they continue with this pricing model.

Have you tried Manifold Editions? I think there prices are very reasonable. Okay! Some of the woodcut prints are a tad on the small size, but there's a lot of work involved creating each woodcut and are small editions of just 55. They cater for people out there, like myself, wanting a bit of Hirst at an affordable price. There's a rather nice woodcut which hasn't been advertised on their site called 'Ala-His'. manifoldeditions.com/damien-hirst.html

I like the pills though, and I guess those prints are quite big... BUT they just feel a little like posters to me!
At least the spot editions are, kind of, works of art in their own right, not photographs of the art.

to tell you the truth Ruggs if I never see another spot print edition I'd be happy - the number that have been released over the last few months have really put me off getting a spot print (hence my interest in utopia etc when I heard about them)

I think he should put these images to bed with one definitive work; a buttlerfly skull, covered in spots painted onto a viagra. Job done...
