Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by etched on Dec 31, 2008 1:39:56 GMT 1, Just a few pointers - and I'm not trying to put anyone off, there are 150 portrait and 150 landscape editions of the silver spots, plus there is a gold backed version on its way shortly (at a slightly higher price - ยฃ3000) - again in 150 portrait, 150 landscpe. Makes this a fairly big run - there will effectively be 600 of these (albeit in variations) floating around. Thought about buying myself, but came to the conclusion I much prefer the non-silver/gold background spot prints - that being said, still a reasonable price at ยฃ2.5k - but don't expect a quick profit- buy for the long term. I have a smaller edition Hirst etching (massive size multi-coloured spots on white - and crucially - not a print) that I'm thinking about letting go - but would be looking approx ยฃ18k - PM if interested!

Does anyone have any more info on the butterfly etchings and any pics would be great? Excuse the ignorance but is the quality of the butterfly etchings likely to be better than the spot prints?

if its an etching i reckon so, but maybe some other knows more than me. i think the silver would be great, but with a gold version i would have to see both to choose.

The e-mail I got from Other Criteria yesterday said that they were going up to 3500.
Not that I could afford this anyway, but I have to say that my enthusiasm for the silver spot prints has diminished on the knowledge that there is a gold version and butterfly prints on the way. Hopefully, I'll be in a better position financially to try and get one of the latter when they become available.

Plus, your buying it from the source, which seems to be very important with Hirst pieces due to the very high end fakes floating around.
