I don't think a certificate alone is enough in this case. Those can be faked real easy.

Im almost 100% sure these are legit. This is a very large gallery, and they have a lot of Hirsts, including originals. I just wish I had the cash to jump on on. I see the prices in the UK are a ton higher, and the one auction result I found was two years ago for just under 10K.

Silver Lepidine are the best really (bias alert !).

This is correct. I've never heard of an Hirst etching being faked... the ones to watch out for are LSD, Opium, and Valium Lambda prints on Fugi gloss.

I've been contemplating getting one of those 'Lepidine' prints from White Cube. Really like those. I'm sensing you've got one of these Rob. Any pictures?

Eatmyshorts, i just checked my email, and its probably from the same gallery. I thought it was from someone I know in Florida. Having said that, I have not dealt with them, so if youre interested, please take that into consideration (I cant vouch for them).

1) The gallery operates from a gmail address, there is no phone number.
2) They have a website, but the postal address given (according to Google Streetview) is a UPS shop
3) There are NO search results on Google for the gallery, other than from the gallery website itself.
4) WHOIS info for the domain says that the domain is registered to a PO Box
5) The only person I could find on Google with a name matching that given in the email to MJ is a sales assistant at Juicy Couture 35 miles away from the gallery address.
It may be totally legit, but I'm going to give it a miss

The spot series is Hirst's most sought-after body of work. This edition was limited to 65, so they are fairly rare. This engraving was also quite difficult to print, since each of the 96 colors was applied to the plate by hand by the printer, and each of the spots is in a different color. This etching is on 350 gsm Hahnemuehle paper, and printing and editioning this series took over a year but the result is a brilliant saturation of color not possible in lambda c-prints (those are also an edition of hundreds, and commonly faked). Proper gallery provenance from the original purchase is included and this etching is 100% mint and stored flat since new.
