All in all top night. Oh and hi to the Spaniard (No1 in the queue) who insisted he was french.

Luckily I was 96 so managed to get one... monsoon all the way home but thanks to Stew'meisters spare bin bag it got back safely.
The Mona canvas was my favourite from the exhibition (even if Mona has been used many times before), so glad it was the print, will take a couple of photos and upload them in a bit...

As people have mentioned it's a digital print on thin slightly textured paper (440mm x 590mm), mine has a few creases at the bottom because it was rolled slightly too tight but will flatten ok.
I think it was great of Blek and Opera to do the 100 freebies and I'm happy to have got one buuut... if I'd had to stump up ยฃ300 for one I'd have run a mile! The paper is not very good quality and it's a digital print from a good'ish original photo. What really makes me chuckle is they couldn't take the time to crop the image to the sides of the canvas... look at the top left, top right and bottom left, you'll see where the canvas ends and the background is showing.
And I've only just noticed the bi-plane above Mona's left shoulder ;D

As for queuing up in the rain, overnight, you're all mental! good stuff tho, a good memento of the evening which will i'm sure remind you all of the fun you had (queue jumpers aside), and as its not for the money it doesnt really matter what the papers like or how bad the cropping is... (and lets face it, if you're trying to flip bleks stuff your a total moron bearing in mind his secondary market collapsed years ago)...

Even managed to have a quick chat with Blek and got a show card signed for a friend and myself... all in well worth losing a few hours sleep over.

Me and the gf got there about 5am and luckily were 85/86th in queue. Really happy with the print, got to meet Blek and got him to doodle on a piece of cardboard (very friendly guy, reminds me of Raymond Blanc). A brilliant start to the weekend!

i nipped in at lunch to have a look around - some great stuff if you like Blek's style. picked up a book and had a chat with the man himself who was as charming as ever. did a nice little doodle of a rat on the front cover too....

But we can discuss forever what would be the best way to release a print but a the end of the day you will always have the VERY obvious gang of Spanish/Latin ( sorry to the real spanish/latin fans ) speaking at every single release. But this time it was plain to see that they did not have a single clue who Blek was.
For a free print by a massive name street artist it was ok, not long ago at last Banksy release were cash was king the Q jumping was insane. Great to see a lot of the familiar faces and knowing that they were proper fans of the scene.

why on earth a free print? if you are going to do that then just give a surprise freebie to the first people who plan to check out the show. or say theres a print for sale then just give it to them. knowing before hand something is free just gets all the wrong people there.

The Blues Brothers extras who queued did make me laugh as I think they smoked more fags than the ยฃ20 given to them by the guy that paid them to queue !! But in all seriousness flipping work is soul destroying for genuine people looking to buy art.
