Katrin Fridriks 🇮🇸 Reykjavík, Iceland • Abstract Art , by rjf76 on Sept 8, 2016 22:15:17 GMT 1, Nice print, not my thing...standard to make wall currently at a high level...no money for art (although exceptions always made). Just spent a week in Iceland though, Reykjavik and a drive out to Snæfellsjökull. Second time in Iceland - an amazing and beautiful country.
We spent a week in May as joint 40th - has an amazing time driving through a stunning landscape. Can't wait to go back...Katrin even gave me some suggestions ha ha

For an extra 300 quid you get a far superior print. Bloody stupid, taking the piss! Hope they accept my 5 dollar bid, American dollars!

Katrin Fridriks 🇮🇸 Reykjavík, Iceland • Abstract Art , by skendo1 on Sept 9, 2016 4:34:26 GMT 1, Dang it. Just got home from work and checked my email to see the release information. I know this is highly unrealistic but, if anybody picked one of the new Fridriks prints and ends up changing their mind, please do let me know! While I've been on a near-absolute buying hiatus (and, in fact, mostly need to clear out stuff), this would have been an easy, easy exception.

You wouldn't want an original then either because that's how she paints. Most times the image continues around the side of the canvas too, which obviously can't be done on a 2D print.

Spot on.
Royal Gene & Ethics had a huge white border, with the signature bleeding over it, which really wasn't great for framing.
All her canvases, OG On reflective paper, and previous prints afaik are full bleed

Not really, the genes print is central unlike this one!!

Yeah but that's a different style - her wave paintings almost all spill over the edges. The awareness paintings like Royal are self-contained.

Katrin Fridriks 🇮🇸 Reykjavík, Iceland • Abstract Art , by soupy on Sept 9, 2016 14:32:57 GMT 1, for me, her work seems to really only resonate in originals. screened prints with varnish and various layering may help get closer to the art's full effect, but i can't get super excited about a simple giclee (no matter the quality). part of the appeal is the depth and thickiness of the paint (and spillover on the sides). it just would be missing that "X" factor.

I agree but many of us mere mortals don't have deep enough pockets! 😀
