Town hit by Banksy fever., by Wiseblood on Jun 9, 2012 20:32:58 GMT 1, I informed the author of the blog it wasn't banksy and he Added the "while it may not be a banksy" section. The piece has been liked as the town are going mad over the knitting and Olympics, anything could be thrown up with reference to some wool and it will be widely received. On another note, his pieces are expensive www.artsbank.co.uk/shop/product/born-lucky/ £175 for an open edition, makes the open edition banksy soup can I bought for what £10 from pow seam like the deal of the century.

Town hit by Banksy fever., by Red 35 on Jun 9, 2012 20:59:46 GMT 1, does sound a little pricey , but even standard photo's of local land marks are about that price in the gallery.....see below
www.artsbank.co.uk/shop/product/redcar-sunset/
I think galleries have a big say in pricing so not always determined by the artist themselves as some galleries take a heck of a lot in commission from the wall price !!
Do you think we should ask MBW to put something up as anything would be so well received?

Town hit by Banksy fever., by Wiseblood on Jun 9, 2012 23:36:46 GMT 1, The artsbank is a gallery that will sell anything you bring in, it's main focus is local artists. You as the artist can determine the price and they set their commission on top, they sell my friends photographs, they retail for about £80 and he gets £55, I can clarify this. If its different for art than it is for photography I don't know. IMO the photo you chose of Redcar took more skill and effort and will apeal to more people than what they are offering by Karl striker, for example www.artsbank.co.uk/shop/product/ignorenullme/ The pieces are expensive, he is an unknown local artist, big thumbs up for getting himself out there but technically his work isn't very good and from a quick calculation on the artsbank website he is selling over 3500 prints with a combined value at over £500,000.

Town hit by Banksy fever., by Red 35 on Jun 10, 2012 0:27:11 GMT 1, I’ve really enjoyed this thread. We’ve had: “I don’t think it’s a Banksy” : “Its awful” “Its terrible” It’s sh@t, its Gay???
feet and hands are good, The people of saltburn love it…but the people of Saltburn would love anything to do with knitting lol…oh yes and the Perspex hasn’t been put on straight !!
The guys giving it a go and hitting quite public spaces. I just think somebody’s got to start somewhere and I look forward to seeing how he develops . Lets be honest he is not going to make £500K and I don’t think for one minute he expects to . I would say his work I think has improved in terms of technical ability, but that’s my opinion particulary like urban crocodile

Town hit by Banksy fever., by vand on Jun 10, 2012 3:42:46 GMT 1, i agree it'll be nice to see someone who obviously has no issues getting up, as he does it often enough, progresses. but by the looks of things he isn't progressing that greatly. not only is his stuff incredibly clichéd, derivative, unoriginal etc but the execution is poor and he honestly believes people want to buy that crap. are these the same people buying MBW's by any chance? also, in case he or any other street artist is reading this, stencils of people/animals etc shouldn't be hovering, yes when you make the stencil it's usually centred on the paper but just cut that bottom bit off! have a person stood on the ground not floating. just a pet hate but something so easily avoidable.
