Several people on facebook (including me) bought on ebay a fake Banksy print, the "ER... flag". More than a month later, no news from the seller and several dispute cases were opened along with a dozen negative feedbacks.
You'll tell me good for you, you should not buy fake banksys from con-artists and you will be totally right (anyway, not a big money loss as the print was a 9.99 quids one).
My point is not there. ebay / paypal have a dispute system and it's fine.
My point is we found out about this ebay sale via Paul Wroe on Facebook (several street art fans have him as a contact and he seemed a nice guy and serious collector). The ebay ad sends back on a site, www.lonelyvillein.co.uk
You'll notice the site uses thelonelyvillein / fragile reference...
That site was registered by, guess who... Paul Wroe. asked about it on FB, he said he's making websites for people and always registers them under his name. ok (but what if people would sell forbidden things such as drugs, weapons or pedo pics ?). Then, paypal is under Paul Wroe's name. He says he sold to the same guy a website and corresponding emails as well... But well the paypal account still is under his name so I guess it's Paul's bank account and ID behind right ? I think the guy forgot that detail...
There are not many options here : it was either a scam or the guy had some trouble but unless he is in a coma I doubt he can't access his emails even if at hospital. I guess it's a scam then. But why bother use your own identity to scam people for 10 quids prints (an edition of 60) ? I do not want to accuse Paul Wroe of being dishonest (yet) but odds are against him at this stage. Benefit of doubt to him. But...
I'd like to know if some people here knows him personnally and if people are "victims" as well, have your views on it.

He's got his business information on his open to the public FaceBook account. He probably used his real credentials on eBay which you can find out/request. He's on LinkedIN etc.
That's just from a single Google search.

Regarding the DNS name, it's true that many buy DNS for clients and keep their DNS under their name; but this is totally wrong. ICANN is clear about this, DNS date should be up to date and at owner's name (not the IT guy). Other contact like IT guy or the guy-in-charge should be added under technical contact, admnistrative contact or billing contact. Furthermore, data MUST be correct; so physical address of registrar of lonelyvillein.co.uk is wrong. To sum up, his answer is dishonnest and data entered are false, hhmmmmm...

Anyone who did not receive their print please email us anytime at info@yourmajesty.co.uk with your name and address and this will be sorted out. As you see we have them in stock. Why did this happen. The truth is the paypal address used received too much money and needed to be verified. So in turn had to go to the bank register for an account and wait fopr documentation. This took two weeks.
I`m not going into all the personal details of web design clients not paying for two months worth of work leaving me broke etc that is the past let me now just get the prints out. Everyone nearly has had their refund through paypal to my knowledge nearly.
