More relevantly for this conversation, my guess is, due to his many altercations with the Government, esp the recent detainment, Ai is simultaneously forced to glide like a ghost who has to be elusive under the powers that be's radar while doing what he does passionately - fighting for the rights and justice of the common man. All while there're CCTVs strategically placed right at his doorstep.

we needed to raise funds quickly to fund some of our artists and projects. it's a very expensive city here...
