POLITRIX โ for the wonderful English!
I think it's a visual appealing print. I like the way how all elements in this print are arranged. I like the layering in this print and the details will be great when you see this print in person. I'm not really into the Wei Wei iconography. The statement in this print becomes to attachted to a specific person (I can see this will get me negative karma  Sorry for the bad english.

Just a small comment (or observation) Wasn't so sure about the 4 colour ways, thought the text was too big. But the stencils could be framed up with colour behind them - unlimited options there!

Just got home and picked up one of the day prints - very pleased with that. Maybe I'm being extremely naive, and if so I apologise, but I find it very interesting to compare this thread to the one about the new POW prints, and the Goldie portrait of the Queen. It seems to me that of the three options, this is by far the most rebellious, and brave release. I mean, I find it hard to imagine anyone being caned for saying that they don't like the British establishment, even if they write it on a public wall. Keep up the good work guys, and looking forward to seeing what you do next.

We kinda know u know who ai is and what he is about. Or to go search for more info.

To be honest, if I saw this face & the word 'Giant', i'd think it was something ot do with Shephard Fairey, never guessing there was any purpose.

To be honest, if I saw this face & the word 'Giant', i'd think it was something ot do with Shephard Fairey, never guessing there was any purpose. thanks for the suggestion! barryh and kashi! yes, we should've put more info up. was afraid it gets too complicated and long winded. here's zhao's take on why he chose to use the word "GIANT" for this stencil: "I'm a street artist. Huge Obey fan. I think the word Giant gets people's goat. As it did before. It's striking and weird and bold. I'm re-twisting Fairey's powerful statement. and giving its old meaning back to a new idea. I'm not making pretty pictures. I'm making "goat getting" stencils." - zhao |
