Who's the next "Must See" street artist , by Wearology on Jul 16, 2012 14:16:42 GMT 1, I am getting a bit bored with the scene as it seems a lot of you guys are too based on recent posts. I am curious to know which non established street artists have caught your eye. I personally think "Retna" is ready for the next level. There are some artists I thought were going to keep on evolving and creating but it seems they have stalled a bit.
Artists who need to step up their game : D'FACE and his superheroes are predictable. EINE and his letters are stagnant. Banksy and his POW affiliation have become insulting to his true fans. Lush seems to be creating art for arts sake. Micalef has fallen off the radar. AIKO is obsessed with female nudity. FAILE should start writing books already. MBW and his photoshop are just plain scary. Penny needs to realize his mini stencils do not translate well in a large scale.

Who's the next "Must See" street artist , by rottenredrooster on Jul 16, 2012 14:36:43 GMT 1, What's the next level?
You can find 'faults' in all artists.
D*Face said he isn't doing any more superheroes as far as I'm aware. Could be wrong. EINE has always done 'lettering'. It's his style. They're not sluggish. EINE is EINE. Banksy insulting? LUSH wasn't really ever that popular... Micallef is producing some top quality work as of recently.
etc etc

Im looking forward to Pennys next stuff, also D*Faces next bits.

Lush and Penny are not really that popular, and have achieved quite little so far. What about Blu, Swoon, conor Harrington and a few more i am forgetting? On which level are they? What's the criteria we should use? The price asked by galleries? Then Stik could be added and MBW is definitely the king of the bunch. Art value? then what is that exactly?? Enjoy your art, buy what you like and things should be ok

Who's the next "Must See" street artist , by Deleted on Jul 16, 2012 15:13:11 GMT 1, nice topic to discuss wear..
I'm absolutely one of the more bored guys lately..
Not sure if Micallef has fallen of the radar or wants to do this to loose his connection with the 'street art scene'. Surprised to see Penny in this list at all. To your list should go Adam Neate, of which I'm (together with slammer probably;)) are the biggest fan around here? It's a shame he sticks to Elms, where I think that another gallery could challenge him more, use his enless creativity even better to become one of the greatest of our time.
But, lets keep it positive. I'm very impressed by the two groups of artists that I learned to know via Remi. Both West Coats Artists as well as Agents of Change have some great artists in there. - LX One - Jaybo - RR - Kofie
Another artists that I really like is Aakash Nihalani, shame that the guy is a bit of a jerk.. Hopefully I can come up with some more later on, will think about it.

Who's the next "Must See" street artist , by Happy Go Lucky Chap on Jul 16, 2012 17:23:30 GMT 1, The next up and coming artist in my opinion is my 7 year old daughter, Amber, who can draw amazingly good dogs, and her meerkats are also showing good signs of improvement.

Who's the next "Must See" street artist , by jB on Jul 16, 2012 20:30:40 GMT 1, I've been bored for sometime now...
I've been watching these young Polish writers as of lately...really digging the collabs.
Sainer / Chazme / Lump / Sepe
If you haven't seen any of their works, I'd recommend looking it up.

Who's the next "Must See" street artist , by Wearology on Jul 17, 2012 2:23:40 GMT 1, Glad to see this thread is getting some attention. Sometimes I feel like there is some stuff on my walls that reflect a period of time that is no longer. It's kind of like when we look at old photos of ourselves from the 80's and 90's and ask what the hell was I thinking wearing those Baggy Girbaud Pants, EG Smith socks over my ankles and K Swiss pure white kicks.

Maybe this feeling, rather than being a reflection of the quality of the artwork that has been/is available in general, says something about your own taste and the longevity of the work that you have chosen to buy?
