On my search I come across some lovely stuff in the end I let my boy pick out of a few illustrators/artists that were mention/found and he went for some monster illustrations by Loch ness (http://monstervilleisland.com/) which will tie in nicely with the wallpaper.

As for others noted in this thread, you can't go wrong with Lumbang, and my daughter **loves** her Fairey Obey Kitty, and her Curtis Kulig "Love Me" pieces.

Her world completly changes within that short period of time. The same is true with regard to your son, even though he's a bit older and the difference between 9 and 12 might not be as big as between 4 and 7 (with regard to the development of personality, likes and dislikes, interests etc.). Putting some cool prints (framed) or canvases up on the walls might be the better and cheaper and more sustainable alternative. There are lots of kids-room-friendly artists (we have some Jay Ryan prints and some Jeff Soto prints/seeker friends in our son's room). Nowadays I do most of the art in my sons room myself - or what's much better now that he's 6: together with him. He's rather good in holding a spray can ...
