For sale Print “Lagerfeld Chanel” Alec Monopoly , by rodgro on Apr 29, 2020 13:43:07 GMT 1, Wow! Based on the comments it seems like some collectors know exactly what to buy and not to buy to ensure it will sell later. No offense mates, but if that’s why you’re buying art you’ve missed the point. Regarding AM, I don’t connect with his work but to say it’s terrible, will never sell, etc is a personal opinion and simply untrue regarding selling as his work sells out all the time. If we are listing artist’s that have work that will never again sell for what it sold for on the primary market that list is very long so let’s not try to single out anyone in particular. I guess my point in all of this is while this is a forum to facilitate buying, selling discussing, etc with like minded folks I just don’t get why people feel the need to berate and borderline bully someone who is trying to sell something they don’t like. It’s just a bad look. Carry on and be safe

Seth Globepainter 🇨🇵 Julien Malland • Paris Street Art, by rodgro on Apr 25, 2020 12:36:34 GMT 1, What the?!?! I just saw your message now jesus. Sorry i didnt buy your print dude but no need to go off. wish you all the best
The point Morleys was trying to make is one of simple consideration/politeness. If YOU post that you are looking for things by Seth and a member replies it is certainly your right not to purchase it but one would think you would have the common courtesy to reply with a “thanks for responding but I already have that one or I’m not interested in that one or ...”. I’m certainly not perfect at exercising this but I try as it’s one of the basics like saying thank you or you’re welcome or holding a door for someone. If someone didn’t teach you that as a child it’s not your fault. Sorry, not meant to be a lecture, but we all need reminded at times. Ok, carry on and everyone be safe out there during these extraordinary times.

Sold, by rodgro on Mar 14, 2020 5:13:18 GMT 1, No - you're totally wrong. Its like the Basquiat that I bought at source in 87' for $500 - rather than flip it for a profit, I am going to sell it to a member on here for what I paid. I mean, how totally unfair is it that just because he's dead that no one else should be able to buy his work! Gawwwd. To think that when some people sell art, they make a profit! Ugh, the thought just sickens me. stick to your overpriced posters slowly yellowing in a tasteless frame x
And there we have it! It’s not a proper thread until people start insulting one another.

Thanks professor, you’re so good at explaining things.

Oh wait, maybe you’re not joking 🤦🏻♂️[/ it’s our English humour. We either work through it or drink through it until it’s too late! 😬 Was just kind of poking fun and figured/hoped it was humor. It’s scary out there and the situation seems to be changing by the minute here in the US. Schools were open when we went to bed last night and closed by the time we woke up. Be safe. R

WTB Anthony Lister Original, by rodgro on Mar 13, 2020 16:34:03 GMT 1, What the hell is wrong with people?! Just saw a few of his pieces on the bay have had asking price increases (one from $1700 to $2500) after the news broke. Do people seriously think that being arrested and charged with a host of things is going to increase his works value?? Shaking my head. If so, COVID-19 isn’t our only problem

For Sale. IAN FRANCIS 2007 Mint condition edition25/50, by rodgro on Feb 27, 2020 15:17:38 GMT 1, Fair enough. I tried to buy both sets but it wasn’t meant to be as I would have needed to go back to school and finish my graduate degree to follow the ever changing pricing. Currently the “$1200 for all (when there were 5 prints) has been updated to read “$950 II” whatever that means. Best OP with whatever your price is. This thread should give hope to all of those people out there who have had things listed forever as 12 years seems to be the music number for these prints.

For Sale. IAN FRANCIS 2007 Mint condition edition25/50, by rodgro on Feb 27, 2020 3:56:56 GMT 1, This is literally the strangest thread I’ve ever seen. There were originally 6 pieces listed, then 5, now 4 and the price has always been “$1200 for all”. 🤷🏻♂️. Curious to see if 3, 2 or 1 will be $1200 too.

Fade by Hush for SALE - Signed, numbered and dated, by rodgro on Feb 18, 2020 17:03:12 GMT 1, We can all talk about what something sold for yesterday, last week or last month and debate what the same or similar piece is worth today but the market will decide regardless of those factors. Referencing what something sold for on eBay or at auction or a gallery might very well play into what it ultimately sells for here but it also may not. It’s always been a bit of a mystery to me but I’ve seen a piece sell out at primary source one day and then someone not be able to sell the same piece on an alternate site the following day for either the same or very similar price. All of that said, it’s a lovely piece and I hope you get for it what you’re hoping for. Best. R

Need Advice on a small investment, by rodgro on Feb 18, 2020 4:10:24 GMT 1, I think anyone on this forum with a decent collection would admit that a good half of the pieces are now worth about nothing. If you're really thinking of art as an investment, don't. And if you still want to, you probably need to look beyond sinking all your chips onto one number. As said above, it's a crapshoot. As a suggestion, spend a small amount on something that looks great and put the rest in a mutual fund or similar. For large, original work I think ABC has some storming stuff (and no, no relation or obligation to push him) antonycollings.bigcartel.com/I would strongly dispute this. Most of my collection has gone up in value and at worst a few I could sell at cost.
Is “most of your collection” that you refer to pieces by Banksy? If not than my assumption has to be that you either picked worked up decades ago and it has increased in significant-ish value OR when you say “increased in value” you mean you bought prints by Shepard Fairey (just as an example) fir $45-55 and now they are worth a few hundred? If so, I suppose this does qualify your statement but I think it’s a far cry from being considered an investment. I don’t mean any disrespect, and my point is simply to agree with most of these collectors commenting that one should buy what they love and to buy a stock, etc if they truly want to invest in something.

Kunstrasen Spot Remover Print, by rodgro on Feb 7, 2020 0:24:34 GMT 1, There are several on the Bay for between $500-$800. All include an OBO so that would suggest you can pick one up for less than $500. Hope this helps.

EINE 'NUDE' Signed Beer Cans for Charity, by rodgro on Jan 24, 2020 23:00:08 GMT 1, Don’t want to get involved in the back and forth but regarding the reason for the post which was “CHARITY” there’s always the option of passing on the beer cans and simply making a donation. I do however wonder how many people who own his work, including myself, will consider parting with it because of this incident? Personally speaking I genuinely love his work but as someone with a wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and so on I find it a bit difficult enjoying the pieces hanging in my home at the moment as the image of him blasting a woman in the face keeps popping into my mind and for the record it’s completely irrelevant to me if he does or does not have remorse or if this is his 1st or 20th time doing something like this nor does his celebrity or talent factor into my feelings on the matter.

Michael Kagan 🇺🇸 Helmeted Astronaut Paintings • Brooklyn, by rodgro on Jan 14, 2020 14:45:12 GMT 1, I had the pleasure of checking out his exhibit at the VA Beach MOCA a couple of weeks back. His paintings are truly amazing in person. Posted on my trip on SM and he commented. Seems like a genuinely nice guy. Look forward to meeting him one day. I’ll be on the look out for future prints.

Asking for forum members help please FOR SALE, by rodgro on Jan 5, 2020 5:13:05 GMT 1, Hi all! Just checking to see if anyone else has received the pieces they bought? I bid, won, made payment and have yet to receive a tracking number, print, etc. I’m trying to be patient, especially under the circumstances of the sale, but my patience are beginning to run thin and thought I would see if anyone else is experiencing the same. Thanks. R
