Kissing Coppers Street Piece Sold, by hnkpnk on Feb 19, 2014 16:27:32 GMT 1, I don't understand this... the original piece was damaged a couple of times, and then repainted. This piece that's been repainted is still in situ on the pub, and looking much like this: bit.ly/1jbUVxqI don't get what it is they've sold, or how or when it was removed from the pub without anyone noticing. Even if they somehow removed the original piece of wall, it would have been repainted to such a degree that I would just consider it a replica of the original piece. It's all very odd. It was even worse than that:

OUTIS โข Print Release โข Street Art, by hnkpnk on Feb 14, 2014 19:33:43 GMT 1, And if anyone still have any doubts as to my motives I think maybe some old members can vouch for me. Been on The Olde Ebay Forum, here since day one, on Wall Kandy etc. Been banned from here several times after threads like this where Silky has been involved. HankPank, FastEddie, Icky are some names.

OUTIS โข Print Release โข Street Art, by hnkpnk on Feb 14, 2014 19:19:01 GMT 1, Are people are really disgusted by gp? I doubt it. There are more things to be disgusted by than a gallery releasing a print. All he said was a mystery artist and all because a thread by another member mentioned banksy and maybe a bit of cute marketing by the artist gp are now duping everyone ! People put your underpants back on and move away from the keyboard... I wonder if people will be disgusted enough not to put their name down on his next print giveaway! Sent from my C5303 using proboards Hnkpnk, I believe you started the thread regarding the Banksy link? Are you Outis? No, and not Banksy either unfortunately. My involvement in this sure back fired.
I found a link to the fake Facebook page via swedish street art blog gatukonst.se (link doesn't seem to work: www.facebook.com/gatukonst.se ) on Facebook. They also thought it was an official Banksy page and was intrigued. I convinced them it was fake and they deleted their post and made a new one where they explained that.
My curiosity made me look into it (I'm pretty good at finding out things on the web, if I may say so myself) and post here on this thread as I supposed someone should know something. And soon afterward Graffiti Prints posted that they were behind the release first on my thread and then started this. The rest you know.
Read my posts and you'll see I've been very critical to the way this was released. I think GP has tried to play dumb and they didn't reply to any of the questions I asked. They sure know more than what they say.
I couldn't believe the reaction this had. And not in a good way.
I haven't had time to read all posts on the thread and I won't be able to follow much in the next few days if there are any more questions to me. Read the first few pages and I think you'll see where I stand.
Edit : link

OUTIS โข Print Release โข Street Art, by hnkpnk on Feb 12, 2014 21:31:00 GMT 1, I have not been a member of this forum for very long but have followed it with great interest for sometime It seemed to me that the common advice of the majority of members here was that a piece of art was only worth the value of the person buying it. E.g. If you like a piece of art and happy with the cost, buy it!! After reading this thread it seems to me that the whole fiasco surrounding the sale of this print has been caused by the people complaining about it!!!! Complaining about the Gallery, about the speed of sale, if people who purchased the print like it or not and about the artist and his talent/method. If you liked it and bought it - Congrats If you don't like it - Ignore it Simple No it never was that simple: Does it matter, an artist's attitude

OUTIS โข Print Release โข Street Art, by hnkpnk on Feb 12, 2014 0:20:20 GMT 1, i am honestly stunned by this thread in all sorts of ways. i repeat im 99.9% sure its not banksy and i never linked it to him. i know it sounds hard to understand working with a artist you have never met and dont know who they are but you do get a feel for people in emails and i go on gut instinct right or wrong but i do. i have worked with artists before i dont know what there first name is never mind who they are and a classic example is dot all i had seen was the work online which i loved so asked and asked to print till he finally gave in. i feel s**t calling him dot when we talk via facebook under his dot account but i do. we are a print house and never wanted to be a gallery, we do like to have show's and have two coming this year all going to plan. we are trying our best to bring what we said we would at the start quality prints from up and coming artists and some well known names. i love the fact we can make a amazing well printed product for someone who could never afford to do it and go the extra mile with colours and processes. fact is we loving printing full stop i am addicted to the process, i took my os gemeos print into my printers today and got a 1 hour lesson on how it was made, the machines, the process and he pointed out lots of fine details we were looking through a magnifying glass. the point is its all based on passion, his lesson, me listening the hour lasted 5 mins for me as does my days doing this sometimes i love it. to be fair to this print its a beautiful 6 colour screen print, i am bummed no one noticed the flash of gold metallic in the yellow of the flowers thats the geek i am... Care to answer the questions I've asked?

OUTIS โข Print Release โข Street Art, by hnkpnk on Feb 11, 2014 21:29:58 GMT 1, The Facebook page looks in every way as if it's an official Banksy-BOTI page. The only thing posted there except copied BOTI stuff is the Outis picture and link.
The page has been liked by 16 050 people, most of which I believe think it's an official Banksy page and wouldn't mind a print. Do the maths.
Edit in italics

OUTIS โข Print Release โข Street Art, by hnkpnk on Feb 11, 2014 21:07:29 GMT 1, Im also guessing this is JPS up to idiocy again. But even if thats wrong, the whole thing of if you remove the brand etc, is clearly just a devious attempt to make sales by trying to align it to Banksy!! Whom if he were to want to release a sneaky print, would probably not play such a stupid game with his fan base!! Nothing against you GP, always seemed a good guy! But i think this release was a misjudgement. But i accept you most likely didn't realise the stupidity the artist was entering into. He has never aligned himself to banksy though apart from the rat in the picture the other guy posted that stuff, I can see why you take the quote as something to do with banksy but it could apply to the clothing trade whatever. It's only after the guy posting new banksy that it got taken in that context! Think he probably just meant it about the world of brands in general which applies to art as well. I will always take a risk on unknown artists if I like there pictures that's what we set out to do in the first place. OK, let's break this down:
www.facebook.com/banksyny.co.uk, a well-made, but fake Banksy page suddenly posts pictures and links to Outis webpage with the comment "If you took away the brand name, what would you have left?" as if it's a new Banksy project without the Banksy name.
The Outis web page has borrowed everything in style from the BOTI web, again hinting at Banksy. First with pictures of a stencil piece behind blue tarp and a picture of a stack of prints, and then the revealed wall with a a Banksy rat, an elephant and a flower bouquet. Not Banksy enough for you?
The name "Outis": From Wikipedia: "Artists, writers and others in public life use this pseudonym in order to hide their identity." This hinting at an anonymous, famous artist under pseudonym.
At the same time you start this thread about the print release: "mysterious artist", "we don't know jack s**t about the artist" etc.
Are you really saying that you had no idea about what your "mysterious" artist was up to with the Facebook page, the look of the Outis page and you didn't see any resemblance with Banksy except the rat? Either you are stupid, have no or very little contact with your artist (as you say) or you're trying to sell a lot of prints by associating it with Banksy. I know what I believe.
I don't think the print is too bad, but I really hate when artists and galleries try to earn fame and money through Banksys name. That's why I'm angry.

OUTIS โข Print Release โข Street Art, by hnkpnk on Feb 11, 2014 18:12:28 GMT 1, You didn't see the Banksy rat when you received the sprayed version? no i seen it when he first sent me a picture of the piece, you posted thread linking to banksy then u tell me off for it WTF For reference:
www.facebook.com/banksyny.co.uk www.artofoutis.com/ www.facebook.com/pages/Art-of-Outis/211998715667758 urbanartassociation.com/thread/113583/new-banksy-print-doubt
So you received a sprayed artwork from an artist you didn't know anything about and decided you'd release it. You didn't know anything about the links above? You didn't think about Banksy when you saw the rat in the corner? You're not 100% sure it's not Banksy?
Edit: you didn't see any resemblance between Outis web page and the BOTI web page?

OUTIS โข Print Release โข Street Art, by hnkpnk on Feb 11, 2014 17:22:10 GMT 1, I for one trust GP on this, as Graffiti Prints have done some excellent work over the past few months and reputationaly wouldn't want to sell there customers a pup. Come to think of it I can't think of one GP release that hasn't been well received on here, so why damage that for a quick profit? thanks - we did just like the image and took the risk, the image is a nice valentines type image with the twist in the flowers i thought the image itself raised questions but no one has mentioned that. i never thought about banksy, its stencil art not banksy art and i was super disappointed when the guy posted up as banksy (i doubt it) as i never wanted it to be associated with banksy. Then why are you talking about "taking away the brand name" for a completely unknown artist? If not to try to associate him with someone famous?

OUTIS โข Print Release โข Street Art, by hnkpnk on Feb 11, 2014 16:49:02 GMT 1, From wikipedia: "Outis is an often used pseudonym. Artists, writers and others in public life use this pseudonym in order to hide their identity."
So this "mysterious" artist registered banksyny on Facebook with a link to banksy.co.uk on the first day of BOTI. Then only posted exactly what was on Banksys BOTI-page. Nothing since until yesterday with a link to a page with all the trademark signs of the Banksy web page.
And now you know nothing about this "artist"? And the "taking away the brand name"?
You're just trying to sell a bad Banksy copycat as if it was Banksy under pseudonym. Nice try, but no thanks. But a pretty good scam.
Edit: forgot to mention the rat. Edit2: I realize you can read the above as if i believe it's Banksy. No I don't, but I admire the work that's gone into the hoax.

Banksy โข Monkey Parliament Poster, by hnkpnk on Feb 9, 2014 21:12:07 GMT 1, Wasnt it an unlimited run of these posters?. The poster wasn't limited, but that doesn't mean it was unlimited.
Of the Bristol Museum posters this was the most popular and definitely the hardest to get. I don't think it ever was sold at POW or elsewhere and at the museum it was only available off and on.

Jean-Michel Basquiat ๐บ๐ธ Brooklyn, New York โข Graffiti Art , by hnkpnk on Feb 3, 2014 9:16:14 GMT 1, Second, I do not see anything wrong being a new member of this forum. You all started this membership thing by having your first thread here weeks, months or years ago. It is absolutely normal to be new here. My first post wasn't trying to sell a six figure Basquiat without provenance.
