Invader Artwork, VALUATION, by simona on May 30, 2016 15:43:52 GMT 1, Hi, anyone know what a sensible price for the Invaderoma book is? The ones that appear on amazon marketplace are always over £700, is this what they genuinely go for?

Space invader chat - PHOTOS AND VIDEOS WELCOME, by simona on May 24, 2016 21:09:22 GMT 1, I'm liking the low key approach Invader is taking with his current NYC invasion. Looks as though the subway tunnels are getting invaded.

Art 16 -Invader Alias catalogue , by simona on May 18, 2016 15:44:57 GMT 1, Hi, is anyone going to Art 16 at Olympia, London this weekend?
Well if you are.... Would you mind swinging by the Over The Influence Hong Kong stand and pick me up one of those Invader Alias catalogues (hopefully they'll have some) I'll pay double the cost of the catalogue to make it worth your while.
Thanks.... Simon

Space Invader STREET ART, by simona on May 9, 2016 23:03:03 GMT 1, Photos on Instagram are showing that LDN_147 (tea time) has gone. Lucky that a gallery owner was walking past at just the right time and managed to collect some of the pieces. Interesting to see what happens to it, it looks very mangled.

Space Invader STREET ART, by simona on May 7, 2016 10:09:37 GMT 1, Knowing that these reactivations are approved does please me. It'll be interesting to see what fate has in store for them.
Will the fact that they are reactivations make them as desirable, or susceptible to damage, as the first ones? After all the medium is the same, the placement is the same, it was just placed their by a different person.
Also by allowing reactivations, does it help protect the original pieces invader placed? I think it does, as it shows the cost of invaders, as a bunch of tiles, is very low and that anyone can make them (approved or not).
Selling on street pieces is low and is not something I like at all.

Space Invader STREET ART, by simona on May 6, 2016 17:43:26 GMT 1, I must admit, that I'm a bit indifferent to the reactivations. Yes, whilst the standard looks good, the materials look authentic, its just that they aren't part of the original invasion waves and by someone else reactivating them at another time long after the originals have gone, the invasion concept is lost.
Some survive and some disappear - that's natural selection. It is annoying when they get damaged or disappear, but they are placed out on the street and this environment changes so very quickly. Like all street art, it should make an impact, inspire and then eventually at some point in time disappear - either at the hands of the elements, authorities, vandals, other artists, or someone trying to make a quick buck.

Space Invader STREET ART, by simona on Mar 30, 2016 19:03:33 GMT 1, I do hope more will go up. It was put up during daylight therefore it must be an authorised piece. Getting prior authorisation makes much more sense for large scale pieces and especially in the UK where Invader has already had a number of run ins with the Police before. We don't want him Invading Wormwood Scrubs anytime soon!

Perhaps you and the OP could swop edges.

Flattening Prints • Creased, Folded, Rolled or Rippled , by simona on Mar 24, 2016 14:58:48 GMT 1, If I was going to frame mine, I'd probably leave the creases in it. It tells the story about where it has come from.

Space Invader FRAMED, by simona on Mar 24, 2016 14:54:26 GMT 1, I took my IK out of the packet and do not regret doing so. I didn't know how to frame it, and after toying with a few reversible ideas, I decided to go for it and stick it onto a slab of 10mm thick black perspex (like an Alias) and hung it on the wall.
If I get another, I was thinking I could buy the same tiles and make another copy of my own. That way I can preserve the original package, but still enjoy the Invader.

Cleon Peterson - Batman v Superman, by simona on Dec 8, 2015 19:25:08 GMT 1, Cleon's profile has certainly risen loads over the past 12 months. It will be interesting to see how much the 99prints are and how quick they sell.
The editions he sells on his website normally go very quick. He certainly has a good style.

Invader Will Bring His Signature Street-Art Mosaics to NYC, by simona on Nov 9, 2015 23:56:18 GMT 1, Yes, Invader is repetitive, but his style is his own. I can't think of anyone using tiles like he does. Whatson, Dolk et al are repetitive because they are all pretty much just copying Banksy and/or Blek but without the wit and intelligence.
I don't see anything wrong with using a few locations that come with the consent of the owners. It means he can work in peace, put large works up which hopefully won't get torn down so quick. Some of his previous invasions have included locations that rely on the owners permission. I can't see this as being any different, just that he has been more open about requesting places for his work. The last Hong Kong invasion worked pretty much the same way. It is just because of the local conditions. The invasion is still happening; you won't know where or what the next one will be. You can be sure that they'll also be a number of pieces put up that do not have permission...

URGENT BANKSY Original from Dismaland, by simona on Sept 30, 2015 18:27:43 GMT 1, Guys maybe it was a live animal created by Banksy and the overhead cost of keeping it alive was really high? Hence the urgent sale? Anyone know what happened to that Elephant from the LA show...?

Stik Sleeping Baby, by simona on Sept 25, 2015 21:48:28 GMT 1, So... We've had a slow but growing fanbase, a book published by a massive publisher, a feature in a national newspaper and now this print release that sold out 10hrs or so before it even went on sale.
Where does all this put Stik? His profile has increased 100 fold since last year, his work is instantly recognisable (iconic even?), he appeals to everyone of all ages, and the best thing is he is a very nice guy. I'd say it puts him in 2nd place behind Banksy in terms of UK based artists that have crossed over from the street to the gallery.
It will be interesting to see what longevity his work has (6 lines, 2 dots and a coloured background), and whether it gets stale.

Banksy in Kidderminster, by simona on Aug 24, 2015 20:22:18 GMT 1, I'd be very very surprised if it was Banksy. It doesn't look like a Banksy, Paris Hilton isn't exactly 'current', Surely he is taking a well earned rest after Dismaland opening.
I like how the 'journalist' refers to the CD stunt as recent. That was 2006, a whooping 9 years ago!!!!

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by simona on Aug 21, 2015 19:56:16 GMT 1, So... if I was to get a ticket for Dismaland and I bought loads of t-shirts, hoodies, prints etc and I came away having a really good day, would it have failed?
I can't help thinking that all the hyperbole and clamber for tickets, t-shirts, hoodies etc is one big joke on you.
