Selling a piece of history (in my humble opinion), by frankiefrench on Mar 15, 2017 0:23:56 GMT 1, So far all I can see is a bunch of sigs, all very interesting to the collector/owner of the book i'm sure but to actually claim that it is signed by Banksy and post photos so that we can all SEE that it clearly is NOT, is just ludicrous. Either that or this OP believes people to be totally blind with the fever to own a signature that they just lay out 15 grand?? Who is making these prices up?! Two things that stood out for me and they point to this person being at least 15 years old. Number 1. "I know him!" Number 2. "A true fan" - followed by a picture of a print. All we can be sure of is that this person at some point has had access to a PHOTO of an unsigned print and quite possibly is either the owner of this book (without the claimed Banksy signature) OR has used photos from Ebay. Its like a school playground.

FS Paul Insect Happy Dreams AP, by frankiefrench on Mar 15, 2017 0:00:49 GMT 1, Sorry to disappoint all who have PM'd me but this print is not for sale. Original For Sale post was from May 16 and subsequently I decided to hang on to it, not sure why it has reappeared!!!!?? Thanks That is a stunner, wise move to hang on to it and I don't mean for reasons of perceived value or gain I mean its just a cracking piece that would be incredibly difficult to part with. It was a pleasure seeing this none the less.

Safest way to sell, by frankiefrench on Mar 10, 2017 12:11:55 GMT 1, I generally would always do a face to face if possible. All the people I have met of this forum so far have been honest genuine people, luckily! Same as that mate, cant go far wrong with both artwork and cash on the table in a public place, i've done some good dealing prior to even discovering this thread.

Visit LONDON ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by frankiefrench on Mar 10, 2017 10:56:52 GMT 1, Cheers coach, I would very much doubt that this resto job has been arranged with the blessing of Roa. We were sat out there on the chairs yesterday hanging out and it did get some odd comments, the usual slew of tourists stabbing phones in the air and walking off without even really looking at what's in front of them.

Visit LONDON ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Street Art, Galleries, Events, by frankiefrench on Mar 10, 2017 1:26:26 GMT 1, The Fanakapan on the village Underground Wall looks pretty damn good and I'm not normally a big fan ![](http://preview.ibb.co/hpcfva/fanakapan_wm.jpg) and I like the ROA at the moment ![](http://preview.ibb.co/fBTygF/ROA_with_graff_copy.jpg) The Roa looks superb. Better for the graff imo. The graffiti is all gone and somebody has attempted a clean up, however, while they were there they turned the entire thing into a medieval hunting scene with tribes people stabbing the Roa hog with spears. I'm not a fan of this sort of intervention and restoration, the walls should take their natural course but hey ho, different strokes for different folks and all that.

Banksy, Walled Off Hotel, GIFT SHOP, by frankiefrench on Mar 8, 2017 21:18:17 GMT 1, I cant engage in this without becoming almost fiercely defendant of B. I have no idea why someone is even criticising his efforts to give to the locals and leave them with saleable artworks. Sorry but if you are a glass half empty person then that is not my problem. Cant really sit by and watch this criticism as one of the people that has been directly affected by his huge generosity, he's an absolute diamond, if you haven't met, worked with and been the recipient of that then sorry but yes it really does exist, it aint no fairy tale, I wont have a word said against the man, he is the real deal and that is all i'm saying on the matter. Cant please all the people all the time.

Banksy, Walled Off Hotel, GIFT SHOP, by frankiefrench on Mar 8, 2017 10:28:34 GMT 1, This is probably true. But why secret high dollar prints to the elite and these shows/events? Why not hit the streets? The NY residencey was brilliant for that. This and dismaland is not close. Give me 1 million dollar on sales from prints to the rich and I'll put something on too! I would imagine that it's far easier, with fewer tears, to sell expensive prints to a small group of affluent art anoraks, than it is to sell more affordable prints to a wider group of people. He's done that already. It appears (at times) to have been a bit of an arse ache. I think it's just easier, instead of some secret attempt to keep his street image intact. People talk. And no art fan will want to buy an expensive print/original, then never show it off. So, You're never going to keep your "secret" prints secret. I'm sure he knows that.
Think of him as milking rich cows.
Think of Banky's paint-covered hands slowly going up and down on a rich cow's teats.
Think about that.
Are you thinking about it?
Anyway, plus, he can release things any way he sees fit. Not everything is for everyone.
Why not hit the streets? I would say he's done that. Plenty of times.
I think it's wonderful that you would put on an art event, with the proceeds from selling prints to the wealthy. I fully encourage you to do that. I cannot encourage you enough. I wish more artists were like you and Banksy. Many artists make a comfortable living from art, yet they don't do these kind of things.
You're allowed to make a living from art. You're allowed to own a Mercedes. You're allowed to give all of your earnings to the poor, while you wear rags and live like a saint in a cave. If you can do any combination of that, while doing more good than harm, then that's brilliant.
Banksy doesn't need to be a saint. He doesn't need to be a spray-can wielding street urchin. If he is, I don't really care. I just care that he does more good than harm. That he creates more good than harm.
Amen to that. He has certainly used his position to help tons of causes, youth centres, schools, the boxing club etc. As for 'hitting the streets', all of these huge budget projects ARE hitting the streets, getting the message across and drawing attention to struggles and the insane inequality in the world, isn't that the plan? He could go apeshit and paint everywhere and get himself busted and screw it all up but what would be the point when you can really make a difference and do things with a ton more swag than slapping up a stencil. He's possibly not moved on entirely form street based interventions and witty commenting, placement etc, lets not write it off just yet because there's only so much people can do while heavily involved in the bigger picture with greater goals. He has given away a huge amount of art and money, good man.

Eine original street piece - stencil on paper, by frankiefrench on Mar 8, 2017 8:29:54 GMT 1, Large stencilled Eine poster on what I assume to be newsprint paper, the type of plain paper that comes between sheets of acetate for a printers. I will take it out of folio storage and photograph it. This has been laid away since 2004 when it was recovered from the mosaic tiled building off the old street roundabout (top end of city road) Paste doesn't take too well to tiles and the weather had it almost off and into a puddle before it was saved, so no it was not stolen. Size is about A1, I cannot give accurate size until it is unpacked. (stored folded, may benefit from a gentle iron under brown paper) Is it real? Yes 100%. All verification issues I will deal with regarding signing it, handover at a reputable gallery if necessary etc and happy to discuss via PM. Can't say fairer than that, nothing to hide, genuine piece.
Genuine enquiries please, try to keep it adult and constructive, i'm happy to listen to offers and deal face to face in London, cash only. Piece is now out of storage folio - measures 25 x 35 inches. Some minor nicks, repairable and will not detract.

NEW PENNY PRINT TO BE RELEASED, by frankiefrench on Mar 7, 2017 18:47:20 GMT 1, I thought why is this thread called Her Majesty, surely he's missed a trick there and could have called this brainwash-esque offering, Her Margesty. Then actually read further down and saw that it was in fact called that after all. Doh!
Next week folks, a stormtrooper walking one of the queen's corgis, or maybe a nice 1950s housewife serving up a nuclear mushroom cloud. Yum yum. Urban art for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
