Your latest Art Purchase?, by Octopus UK on Mar 10, 2007 15:29:14 GMT 1, Thanks for the congratulations. I'm usually rubbish at hanging prints. It takes me about 3 or 4 goes to get it right - lots of holes in the wall. But this time I used a ruler, tape measure and a spirit level and managed to get the two trains right (enough anyway) first time.
I like how people on this forum have the confidence to do something different. I don't think I could decide on a white frame for a print but I accept that in some cases it is the right choice. Harajuku works in white.
Lots of Eine trains (mainly pink) are for sale on ebay at the moment, at a price premium of about £50 on the original £125. I'd like to see a Monster print in the flesh and framed, but someone has told me they are dissapointed with the "We Hate Eine" red and black.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Octopus UK on Mar 10, 2007 12:25:02 GMT 1, Hello, I've been impressed by many of the examples of framing shown in this thread and would like to offer my recent attempt. The first are the two trains by Eine. I liked some of the double mount framing examples given in this thread and asked for the same on my prints. I chose a plumb colour which is present (in a subtle way) in both prints. But I'm not sure it worked. The size of these prints is impressive, but this isn't communicated in the photograph.
The other photo's are some stamps from Brian Jones. I think I like stamp art - takes me back to my stamp collecting days as a child. The frames were very good value - £3.80 from a local hardware store. They have a mount which was just about teh right size and are deep.
Here are better images of these stamps. www.cnpdonline.com/friends/brian_jones/blairman_mao.html www.cnpdonline.com/friends/brian_jones/idiot_son.html www.cnpdonline.com/friends/brian_jones/shoulder_to_shoulder.html
PS Sorry that the images are poor, I tried to minimise the impact of the flash and reflections so had to compromise the angle. Also the Eines are more florescent "in person".
