Tracey Emin "The Kiss" Print, by rrrich on May 19, 2011 17:18:29 GMT 1, for info, they are also doing these framed upon request through darbyshires. not confirmed how the framing will look or the cost yet but apparently it's likely to be float mounted in a simple white frame. i've got one on reserve.
as said above, it's a great price for a nice, inoffensive image from an established artist. bear in mind micallef's giwtbb was £300 for a 1,000 edition, I do think this is great value at nearly a third of the price.

Art as an investment , by rrrich on Apr 26, 2011 20:17:17 GMT 1, charming baker. his prices have rocketed since the show bought by damien hirst event. you couldve got a decent size original for a new signed banksy (c.3k) a few years back. now they're up to 10 times that.

Sweet Toof & Cirque du Soleil, by rrrich on Apr 11, 2011 19:46:21 GMT 1, I got an email round about this project but hadnt seen it mentioned here before - a bunch of artists have created posters/prints to advertise Cirque du Soleil concerts in the artists' respective hometowns. Sweet Toof has done one for London. Seems pretty pricy at $50 a poster and $350 for a signed print (ed. 50). But here for anyone interested:
www.safewalls.org/
shop.safewalls.org/products/Sweet-Toof-%252d-Deluxe-Print.html#
and 10% off til 15/4 - AM10POFF3D

AYRZ "Sing It Again" Print Release POW, by rrrich on Feb 10, 2011 16:43:56 GMT 1, thing is if you go on posterdistrict.com or omgposters.com regularly and you'll see far better stuff than this. it may sell due to pow hype, but if people on here like it and find it's a style they appreciate, they'll find great stuff way cheaper through those two.

AYRZ "Sing It Again" Print Release POW, by rrrich on Feb 10, 2011 13:04:04 GMT 1, not really impressed at all with this. think there's far better stuff out there in a similar vein, particularly in the poster scene. my mate drew millward does some pretty exceptional work i'd rather have on my wall...
cant link from his website but pictures here: www.drewmillward.com/galleries.htm

Sweet toof @ Christies, by rrrich on Jan 28, 2011 9:15:04 GMT 1, yeh makes it sound like it's a found piece rather than from the artist. which seems strange that a street piece by sweet toof would end up in a christie's auction.

Sweet toof @ Christies, by rrrich on Jan 27, 2011 19:38:04 GMT 1, Just flicking through the ecatalogue for the Christie's Interiors auction in South Kensington on February 9th, there's a piece by Sweet Toof salvaged from Sclater Street, estimate of £1,200.
Also a Nick Walker TMA Moscow print in there.

Counter Editions Sam Taylor Wood, by rrrich on Jan 26, 2011 19:00:49 GMT 1, thanks for letting me know. It's around £70 to go for the glass they had on the framed one at the art fair. I may get another quote or 2.
By the way, whats the other edition? any pics? Just be interested to see!

Counter Editions Sam Taylor Wood, by rrrich on Jan 25, 2011 19:09:57 GMT 1, By the way, the framed print at the London Art Fair has an anti-reflective glass, not the UV perspex as you would get with the framed option, thought that was a bit cheeky.
yeh this has me a bit worried. will there be much glare on the perspex and will it give decent UV protection? im going to give CE a call but comments welcome.

Counter Editions Sam Taylor Wood, by rrrich on Jan 25, 2011 16:16:30 GMT 1, the frame is also custom designed apparently for the print and it really is something quite phenomenal. i got mine at the weekend and there's over 100 sold but still available at £550 to mailing list folk for a few weeks. doubt it'll be on the site at £650.

London Art Fair Ticket Giveaway, by rrrich on Jan 19, 2011 18:43:37 GMT 1, the vlh was £4,750 which was pretty damn pricy given theyve been around £3k on here.
there was plenty of sir peter blake. the huge prints on canvas were some of the highlights - there were a couple of marilyn ones at £15-20k, a venice collage and london collage. marilyns had diamond dust and the collages had a lot of hand finishing. the venice 'postcard' collage set were nicely priced, relative to some of the other work. nothing quite as lovely as the andy warhol diamond dust prints from last year tho i thought.

Counter Editions Sam Taylor Wood, by rrrich on Jan 14, 2011 22:56:14 GMT 1, That's a lot of presents rrrich.
ill put a fair bit to it myself. i enquired about the ones at multiplied (editions of 6) which are larger and over £30k so this is a bargain in comparison!

Your latest Art Purchase?, by rrrich on Dec 15, 2010 12:27:06 GMT 1, Arrived today. Antony Gormley Horizon Field etching. Big and amazingly well packed. Looks great winter. Serene. Reminds me of taking my kids to the cloud, which we all loved. Went to the roof, and saw all the Gormley statues, some close, some far away. They looked amazing. The guy is an artistic genius imo.
yeh thats fantatic. been looking at getting an etching by him recently but have gone for a cheaper richard long print. was this from a gallery or a private sale? look forward to seeing a pic of this up and framed.

Banksy • Choose Your Weapon Print, by rrrich on Dec 11, 2010 2:04:11 GMT 1, the guy sat down in the chair in the right of the second picture i got chatting to. he thought he was around 200 at the time he arrived. since people pushed in he was figuring 250, maybe more. i got there, spent 5 mins chatting and scoping it, and left at 11.30. as i said, not much point in turning up now.
