solved, by ricobenfico on Nov 5, 2011 15:27:30 GMT 1, Alright? I'd be a bit peeved if I were in your shoes too however, playing devils advocate:
- he could argue that each of these 'drawings' are unique and are in esence, originals. That would probably (from his opinion) justify the selling of these after selling you the 'original' drawings.
- you could argue he mis-represented himself and the work inthe sale to you at the time and you could take this further if not resolved with the artist (whether it's worth the bother or not is another matter)
- joint resolution could be that he sends you the final 'fourth' drawing free of charge and it's left at that by the both of you.
Good luck rp

FS: Obey Fine Art Print, by ricobenfico on Nov 2, 2011 13:05:36 GMT 1, It's awesome but the thought of the framing cost gives me a twitchy gooch. Anyone framed one of these bad boys? I actually handed this into my Framers on Saturday to get a quote and for a simple black frame was going to be under £100. My guy is good and I return time after time to him. If it's cheaper for him to frame it and post it to you than it is to get it framed in London etc, happy to help with that.
I'm trying to work out if i want this as much as my heart says I do.
Go with heart

New Banksy Book - Myths and Legends, by ricobenfico on Oct 27, 2011 23:46:28 GMT 1, Size: 7.8 x 4.3 Inches Condition: New -Softback Pages: 96 2011 Ginko Press $9.99
We are including some random stickers with every order.
No single living artist has created as many myths, rumours and legends as Banksy. In his home town of Bristol, almost everyone seems to have a Banksy story. Many of the tales in this book are from Bristol, some are from further afield. What they share is that they are all told with the wide eyed wonder which Banksy inspires. Compiled between 2009 and 2011, some of these stories are quite old and have been told so many times they have become the stuff of legend, while others are more questionable and can best be described as myths. Some are laugh out loud bollocks and others are simply gossip. You be the judge.

Rook and Raven - You Rest You Rust, by ricobenfico on Oct 25, 2011 15:40:30 GMT 1, I think it's only justice that the artist HIMSELF starts to make a bit (more) money ;-) He has some bills too and won't be releasing stuff @ £100 forever ;-) Nothing wrong with a one-off "Athena" @ £850 IMO
That would be fine except all this money isn't going to the artist, the gallery will take their cut from this price (others on here will be better placed to guesstimate the percentage) so Penny might just be getting close to what he was selling these himself directly (without the hassle and opening himself up to a wider market).

Rook and Raven - You Rest You Rust, by ricobenfico on Oct 25, 2011 0:13:40 GMT 1, True to form Rook & Raven gallery’s opening exhibition, ‘You Rest You Rust’ is going to be showcasing some of the most impressive talent in the cotemporary art world. The artists featured include the critically acclaimed Penny whose intricate, highly technical brand of stencils create images that deal with vast themes on often minute scales. Non-conformist Dale Marshall will exhibit his powerful oil based canvases. Marked by an inescapable rawness, his art makes compelling and beautiful viewing. New Yorker DAIN’s street art effected spin on faded Hollywood glamour is a brilliantly arresting exploration of both then and now. Finally Daniel Lumbini completes a stellar line up. His work marries modern and classical techniques to create familiar yet disarming images that force you to reconsider your initial reaction.
This will be followed on the 24th November by David Walker’s eagerly anticipated solo exhibition. Working in traditional portraiture and painting freehand, but using only spray paints, David’s signature multi-layered style challenges preconceptions about both fine and urban art.

DOLK Canvas - Charity Auction, by ricobenfico on Oct 22, 2011 19:41:56 GMT 1,
We were contacted recently by Norway's national media channel NRK P3 to see if we could help out with their annual charity event, this time around for the excellent work of Norsk Folkehjelp, or Norwegian People's Aid. Norwegian People’s Aid is the labour movement’s humanitarian organisation for solidarity.
We contacted our man Dolk, and just as we thought, he came up with goods ! Norsk Folkehjelp are actively engaged in mine clearance under their Clearance for Life project giving this piece added meaning.
BOMB SUIT 1/1 Spray paint and acrylic on canvas 70 X 100CM
The work is available on P3's online auction now and at 40000kr with one day to go is looking like a bargain, gallery price being almost double this.
SIGN UP AND BID NOW HERE. bit.ly/rdCf2T
Norsk Folkehjelp
Norwegian People’s Aid is the labour movement’s humanitarian organisation for solidarity. Our goal is human worth and equal rights for all, irrespective of sex, disability, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual preference or social status.
The Norwegian People’s Aid vision is Solidarity in practice. The vision demands commitment and action to protect life and health, build democratic societies and strengthen people’s ability to master their own lives.
We show solidarity in supporting vulnerable groups such as indigenous peoples, poor farmers, women and youth, so that they may themselves have the opportunity to protect and promote their own interests. Our work is based on cooperation between equal partners, not on charity. Charity gives the giver control over the recipient whereas solidarity means respecting the partner’s integrity and their right to set their own conditions.
Norwegian People’s Aid is politically independent but not a politically neutral organisation. We take clear positions in important social debates and our goal of a more just world means that we often choose partners that may be opposed to, or in conflict with, those in power. Popular participation and organisation are important measures in securing human rights and giving people greater influence over their own lives and social development. Norwegian People’s Aid both supports and speaks on behalf of its partner organisations.
