Parcelforce / Customs Delays, by Harveyn on Feb 24, 2013 11:59:34 GMT 1, Anybody else having ridiculous delays (2 weeks+) with international shipments into the UK due to be handled by Parcelforce. PF's customer service is non-existent.
Despite Customs telling me that PF have it they of course say itโs the other way round. No delays with FedEx etc so the common denominator would appear to be PF.

On a side note... does anyone have a link to the custom fees thread, I can't find it?
I just got a Fedex bill I need to address... although I already received the artwork a bill came about three weeks later and I just need to refresh my memory on the 5% thing!

I actually won my battle with FedEx the other day.. Took about 10 calls but got all my ยฃ10.50s refunded and told it won't happen again

I've had one success, where they agreed to w/o the admin fee, and one where they flatly refused.
All seems a little random.

Rang back was told it did and to wait for someone to ring me back.... No one rang back ,so rang again.(this went on for a couple of month of ringing and no ringing back) Was then told again that it didnt and had to sort it with customs .. So then took it to there line manager who told me that accounts didnt waver the admin charge and put me through to someone else... Who told me it did and opened me an account and refunded all my charges..

In my business my customers expect us to manufacture electro-mechanical box builds through extremely complex engineering processes in anything from days to a few weeks and these clowns can hold parts for several weeks adding no value. It's either incompetence at the highest level with no ability to capacity plan or job protection at its worst. Whilst I certainly do not believe that all elements of the public sector are riddled with inefficiencies I am afraid this is an example of the difference between the public and private sector. I have spoken to both Customs and Parcelforce and their attitude is appalling. Absolutely no way to expedite the process.

Parcelforce / Customs Delays, by .dappy on Feb 24, 2013 15:29:28 GMT 1, technically Parcelforce is a PLC, although the Secretary of State owns all of the shares except one or two. tbh I think Parcelforce has gone backwards in its service (customer and everything else) while the PO's themselves ('counter services' in modern lingo) has progressed well.
I always expect approx 10days when I know a parcel is being delivered to the UK from Europe or US and being 'passed through' Parcelforce. You can see it comes to a grinding halt once it reaches UK hub/sorting office.

It sat at there depot and tracking stated 'payment if charges, item being held, addressee being notified'. I waited for a the letter which never arrived. I eventually managed to contact them only to be told it had been returned to sender. When I asked to speak to the manager the guy hung up on me. Despite several email exchanges with me enquiring about compensation for covering cost of postage (ยฃ60) they don't want to know. I've got an email from them apologising for not sending me the customs letter but they won't compensate. An absolute joke. I don't know where to go with it now.

I phoned ParcelForce to find that my package was at my local depot all this time with them saying that the notification letter had been sent! I just wanted to get my parcel so I went to the depot and managed to pick it up without any hassle. Just goes to show what fairplay1974 suggested, when you see the tracking change to custom fees you don't need to wait for the notification to land on your doorstep.
As an added bonus the commodity code was accepted so all I had to pay was VAT and the annoying ParcelForce fee! Just need to get it opened and make sure everything is in order!
