Wider than a postcard & olive47 bonita bonita @ Breeze Block, by kendo on Jul 10, 2013 20:44:41 GMT 1, As these are original pieces they should have used the appropriate commodity code so if they are stopped they should automatically be charged at the lower 5% rate. Fingers crossed they slip through though!
I asked if a tracking code could be provided but unfortunately I've had no reply (been about a week or so) - frustrating as I don't know if they have been posted, in transit, sitting in customs or kicking around the local depot.

Same as to be honest.. frustrating not knowing what is going on..
surely a simple thing to advise tracking details..

I have a $100/ยฃ67 HPM arriving tomorrow... (not the Breeze Block pieces) I was able to track its slow progress from LA!
Today I had to pay an additional ยฃ25.97 import/clearance fee, adding $38.75 on a $100 work.
It doesn't feel like the bargain it was.
Fingers crossed my Breeze Block pieces slip through, I hate the slow progress of claiming back the overinflated fees!

All the sold cards have been despatched, so shouldn't be long before they arrive.

Wider than a postcard & olive47 bonita bonita @ Breeze Block, by jusdeep on Jul 15, 2013 15:55:46 GMT 1, In my experience of items being sent by Parcel Force and marked at a higher value they always get Import duty and a processing fee added. I have in the past been charged more in duty and handling fees than the actual product itself. When I spoke with Parcel Force and mentioned the charges they said it was marked as artwork, but 20% VAT was calculated on the declared cost. Not sure why they were not marked with the correct tariff code if they went to the trouble of marking as artworks. I guess some people were lucky or may be getting invoices at a later date. Beats me why Galleries who ship Internationally can't get this right, happens far too oftenโฆ although saying that most galleries don't even know how to package a print correctly.

The not knowing where it is...Is the bigger worry?
Leaving the buyer uncertain as to what's going on, when you should contact the gallery etc
All this causes unnecessary frustration for all parties concerned, providing the buyer with the tracking info would eliminate most of these fears.

Cant disagree mate but then again this wasn't a normal show....there was a lot to get through re pieces of art. Hopefully it will be a bit smoother next time but in my experience it was worth the wait!....And Sven doesn't live too far away if needed

It's a cracking idea for a show and yes a lot of artwork to get through... I know it'll be worth the wait, it's just the wait... I hate the waiting.

We all understood that it was a big show that required a lot of manpower but they're still running a business and not replying to emails is not the best way to deal with customers... I emailed Paige one month ago (prior to shipping) asking if they could ship my card with USPS Express Mail instead of Priority Mail but heard nothing back... emailed again two weeks later and I received a mail back from John that informed me that my card has been shipped out... but I don't know if they used Express Mail or Priority Mail (I suspect the latter as everyone else, which is frustrating because it always takes a month or more for delivery here, while Express Mail would take no more than a week)... emailed again few days ago asking for a tracking code, no reply yet. I'm sure (at least I really hope!) that everything will arrive safe and sound but communication could have been slightly better.

I contacted the gallery as I had purchased several postcards and had gotten charged multiple times on postage with no reply. I then, (as understandably it took a while to sort out everything out) contacted the gallery as I had moved apartment in the meantime. Again no response and only just received a Parcel Force fee letter as my post is being redirected. No tracking number or confirmation of postage was sent. After speaking with PF I cannot change the address until they have attempted delivery (after customs and clearance fees of ยฃ65 have been paid), then I have to pay extra costs to change the delivery address. All of these things could have been avoided and as already has been said , really not the best customer service. I'm sure everything will work out and I will get the cards I purchase, but very disappointed.

Wider than a postcard & olive47 bonita bonita @ Breeze Block, by ilmambo on Jul 16, 2013 10:24:22 GMT 1, I finally just received my postcard! Good news is that it arrived safe and sound, not damage. The bad news is that when I emailed Paige asking for Express Mail instead of Priority Mail, I also emailed her earlier asking to mark down the value on the customs forms and she replied that they would have put a low value. Then communication basically stopped. Now I received my postcard, shipped with Priority Mail and marked with full value on customs form. I would have really appreciated if instead of packing the postcard with a pink ribbon and a handwritten thank you message they would have taken more time replying to customers emails and not ignoring their requests.
By the way yes, the pink ribbon is true, sorry to spoil the surprise to everyone still waiting.
