Looks like 12% buyers.. and thats about it.. but dont take my word for it!!..
Seems all a bit too easy for my suspicious mind.. Ive signed up and can bid straight away.. no costs on postage other then shipped direct from seller.. so does appear they are just an auction platform like ebay.. unless I have read it wrong.. Have i?
Any other info appreciated before I whizz my money down a black hole .. oh, ive been doing that for years !!

Urban Art Auction on Paddle8 - pieces by almost everyone, by Graham H on May 1, 2013 14:44:04 GMT 1, Also I dont know about the 12% most of the auction with a premium clearly state a premium will be added right next to where you bid. It looks like this is technically a "benefit" auction.
Clear as mud then huh??

Urban Art Auction on Paddle8 - pieces by almost everyone, by urban art advisor on May 1, 2013 15:33:31 GMT 1, Hey everyone, thanks for the interest in the auction. Just to clarify, there is NO buyers premium on top of the wining bids in this auction. What you bid, plus actual shipping and handling costs, is what you pay. Thee are reserve on most of the items, but so far plenty of things are getting close if not over already.

Urban Art Auction on Paddle8 - pieces by almost everyone, by ArtmanLA on May 3, 2013 1:24:52 GMT 1, What was that all about? If these guys want to be taken seriously as an auction house then they have to start acting like one. Having a auction finish and then just disappear is not a good way to treat the people who are propping up their very existence, transparency of sales is what art auctions are all about. Did anyone win anything? bid on anything? did you get more communication about the way the auction went?

Urban Art Auction on Paddle8 - pieces by almost everyone, by daveart on May 3, 2013 14:08:33 GMT 1, i threw in bids on two items that did not meet the reserve. i received email last night asking if i wanted to make an additional offer to meet the reserve price. which i did not do. I did ask that if they just tell me the reserve price i might consider making an offer but not going to just bid against the house until some imaginary line is crossed.

What a waste of everybody's time a very sad state of affairs. Very poor show from the organisers if this is true.

Urban Art Auction on Paddle8 - pieces by almost everyone, by urban art advisor on May 6, 2013 18:47:29 GMT 1, The auction was a great success with over $150,000 in sales. Thanks to all those who purchased, those who bid and those who allowed us to auction their works.
The Paddle8 formula, similar to Artnet.com auctions, is designed to protect the value of artworks in the market so auction results are never public. I believe artnet publishes results of their own auctions if lots do sell, but not if they don't. Either way our results will not be public, it's just not what we are doing.
With follow up sales on lots that did not meet reserve, we are very upfront about asking prices. Just send us an email and ask about any lot.
Our next auction will be an all Shepard Fairey sale in June and our next full Urban Art sale will be in July. We are currently accepting submissions for both sales.
Unlike the past sale we plan to put the catalogues online for at least a week prior to the sale dates as many bidders told us they wished they had more time to review the lots in the last sale. We are also working with Paddle8 to change the format so that auction items end one at a time, not all at once, to allow bidders to follow the end of several lots easier.
We love hearing your feedback and only hope to improve the system.
Please email info at urbanartadvisor dot com with submissions or comments.

I think urban art advisor are too busy smoozing in Berlin at their new gallery, BC Gallery. Looks like they've spent lots of time posting up about their gallery opening etc since your post and forgot about their buyers/enquiries from paddle8 auction. Complain to Paddle8 about this auction partnership and how it doesn't look good on them. Maybe they can get in touch with urban art advisor? Also could try emailing BC Gallery in Berlin and join and write a reminder on their Facebook page? Hope you hear from them soon.
