Hope this finds everyone well and full of sweet summer stories. Itโs been non-stop in the studio. Weโve been working hard to create our first solo museum show, opening in Dallas, Texas this weekend. Weโre showing 18 new paintings along with a selection of the Tower and Wheels from the show at Lincoln Center with the NYC Ballet. Itโs a great space and weโre really excited and honored to have this opportunity โ and to share the new works with Texas. While here, weโll be doing a couple murals as well and will keep sharing as we have images. The show and several new images were inspired by the Lone Star state and notions of the West. We hope you can all see it if youโre in town. Weโll be doing an artist talk on Sunday, Sept. 22nd at noon at the museum. Where Wild Wonโt Break Dallas Contemporary Museum September 21st โ December 22nd, 2013 161 Glass Street, Dallas, Texas 75207 dallascontemporary.org In addition to the murals in Texas and the one we created in Vienna this June, weโve just completed our largest mural to date in NYC near Times Square in the last few weeks. Weโre really excited to have a permanent mural up in the city and also to honor the legacy of a great building that was responsible for so many recordings from the 70โs and 80โs. Still putting together the slide show, but you can see at 321 W. 44th St. or images here: instagram.com/faileart ArtNews did a write-up on the Dallas Contemporary show and the NYC mural which you can read here: www.artnews.com/2013/09/17/faile-messes-with-texas/ Weโll also be doing a live Google Hangout interview with Juxtapoz Magazine on Sept. 26th at 5:00 pm (NYC time). Hope you can join us and ask a question. Many of you have gotten in touch about new prints. In the next few weeks, we plan to do a Book Cover release and are working on a new large-edition block print due out this November. Beyond that, we are working with Bast to bring DeluxxFluxx to ArtBasel in Miami this year. We have a new set of arcade games and will be showing pinball machines for the first time. Weโll keep you posted along the way. Thanks to everyone for the support over the last year. We hope to see you in Dallas. Our best, FAILE

Faile book covers + block print, by Chrisp on Sept 20, 2013 22:40:25 GMT 1, All sounds brill but i am never going to see any of it in the flesh, a print or a book is as close as i would get. Pinball project would be amazing. Typed Dragons Lair into Google the other day, Flash game popped up, still as annoying and i wanted to beat my computer up as it was as frustrating as i remeber playing it when it was first released on aracde. www.dragonslairflash.com/

FAILE Where Wild Wonโt Break
EXHIBITION OPENING CELEBRATION SATURDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 2013 21.00 - 24.00 (9.00 pm - midnight) FREE
EXHIBITION DATES 21 SEPTEMBER - 22 DECEMBER 2013
Patrick McNeil born 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta. Patrick Miller born 1976 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Both artists currently live and work in Brooklyn, New York.
FAILE is a collaboration between Brooklyn-based artists Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller. Since 1999, McNeil and Miller have constructed multimedia installations and large-scale paintings and sculptures. These works have catapulted them to the forefront of post-Warhol imagery.
While FAILE initially operated outside of mainstream contemporary art, they quickly gained widespread awareness due to their groundbreaking use of materials, images and technology. FAILEโs culture-driven iconography and visual imagery blends high and low culture into works that can thrive either in the gallery or on the street.
Where Wild Wonโt Break features FAILEโs hallmark prayer wheels. First introduced in 2008, the large, kinetic prayer wheels are hand carved from merbau, an exotic Indo-Pacific hardwood. Serving as an instrument for meditative contemplation, the wheels permit the participant to experience the images in a manner consistent with ancient Tibetan practices. As the participant turns the wheel, the wheel responds with a flow of reincarnating moving images.
The fourteen-foot tower residing at the center of the exhibition echoes FAILEโs recent collaboration with the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center. The immense tower is enveloped in FAILEโs signature imagery. The individual images combine endlessly to create an array of narrative possibilities, which extend into similar copper and wood works behind the tower. The pieces incorporate Texas themes drawn from FAILEโs recent visit to Dallas.
