How much art do you 'hoard'?, by balibob on Nov 2, 2013 11:44:32 GMT 1, I only buy what I know will go on the wall and get it framed and hung straight away. It means I have to pass on a lot of stuff that I quite like, but the thought of owning art that is hiding under the bed etc would make me feel quite sad.

How much art do you 'hoard'?, by johnnyh on Nov 2, 2013 12:01:34 GMT 1, Must say I am a hoarder. I do collect pieces and not all goes on the wall. To be fair I also do not like my walls packed so do not have that many actually on the wall. I also change them around quite a lot to give the house or room a different feel. Lucky in that our apartment has an office room that is my art and records room so it is a nice place to keep and store stuff.
Partly due to location I do not sell stuff also shipping costs mean I am choosey what I buy. Must say have no great desire to trade pieces although sometimes think about it. But I do like my collection and do like the pieces for different reasons. Eg like Banksy's and have a few but you do not want house covered in them so not all go up but still like having them and they are important to me and not on the investment return basis. Eg regardless of value I won't sell them so in one sense value makes little difference. But also have other art that was bought when living or travelling in different countries so it's important not just as art but also a place in time as it were. So I kinda like the one in one out policy people have and it's a good way for managing things but not sure it's for me I must say

How much art do you 'hoard'?, by Yeah Yeah Yeah Round2 on Nov 2, 2013 19:47:47 GMT 1, Everything I own is framed (apart from a Pete Fowler Monsterism print). Sadly, I still have to find wall space for about 12 prints and originals. (there could be more hidden cupboards etc. lol)

How much art do you 'hoard'?, by kunstrasen on Nov 2, 2013 21:26:25 GMT 1, Can this thread be deleted please!? It reminds me of my unreasonable behaviour at times... Have more works unframed and stored away than I would like. Most definitely too little wall space. So I obliged myself to the one in one out rule recently...will see how it works for the future though. Don't really have anything I would want to let go and that is the problem. I regularly get my folder out and look at the pieces in there for a while...enjoy that more than reading a good book or so.
