Me Art Monday, by Someones Brain on Aug 8, 2014 22:18:25 GMT 1, Once we got started we couldn't stop and did some more. We gave the one in the white frame to a friend of us who works in the field of intellectual property rights.

Me Art Monday, by Someones Brain on Aug 8, 2014 22:20:37 GMT 1, Is that another of your lovely frames?. No wiz, I must admit I bought this black frame (as well as the white one) at our Ikea. You cannot beat that prices and it was so much easier.

Me Art Monday, by Someones Brain on Aug 8, 2014 22:23:23 GMT 1, My wife instantly reserved this canvas for her office. We got this pretty god/strong canvas in a sale for 3 EUR. The other black piece was sprayed on the top of a shoe box.

Me Art Monday, by Fะฏ on Aug 10, 2014 23:36:00 GMT 1,
We're all here because we love art yet how many of us members actually do some ourselves? I thought I'd try and get a thread like this going as I find the possible results so exciting. I must say that I think I would be the last person to want to show off anything I create as I have told people on more than one occasion that " I can't draw ", but what trumps that is the feeling and knowledge that the very act of creating some art, be it amazing or pants, is good for the soul. So why the hell don't I do it? I was hoping that a lot of members are in the same art boat as me and would also be willing to give it a go.
How about members turn off their puters and tellies at some stage during the week, stick some music on or something, have a beer or a glass of wine or a doobie or a cup of tea and just create something? Draw, paint, write, cut a stencil, make a collage, anything!
Get your kids involved, get your partner involved, get your parents involved or escape them all for an hour and have a bit of 'me time'. Then at 9:00pm on Monday nights wherever we are we could post a pic of what we've done and just watch as all the other members do the same. Would be a really great thing to see. It's about being self conscious but without being self conscious. Are we brave enough? You can't be criticized for actually doing some art. It's you. So would anyone be up for it?
Love the way everything like this on here starts with good intentions then ends up on a shop at the end. always the same.

That's unfair imo. What's wrong with the kid wanting to make some pocket money? As dad wanting a contribution towards the cost of cans? It gets very expensive, I know!

Me Art Monday, by Deleted on Aug 11, 2014 11:07:54 GMT 1, Couldn't disagree more. Thatcher would be proud. * edit, that's a bit unfair of me, but I do think kids should be taught that the arts have an intrinsic value rather than a monetary one for as long as feasibly possible. I'd be worried my kid would get insecure when the work didn't sell and overly confident when it did. Could seriously skew a child's view of an entirely innocent and enjoyable pastime.

The relevance being that it appears you're giving a 10-year old girl shit for making a few bob from her art whereas you're a company partnering with investment firms to promote and sell a shit ton of art and I would say that's the pot calling the kettle black

Me Art Monday, by Deleted on Aug 11, 2014 15:01:06 GMT 1, everyone - can we please stop with the name calling and get back to the topic of the thread - supporting children learning and loving art? I'd hate for these kids to go online to see our opinion of their work, only to have to see this other nasty stuff being thrown back and fort... please keep that stuff to PM's (or a separate thread)

Forgot to add, did you pick up those ideas at the same place you bought the shirt?

Hey...thanks a lot. Great fun but not nearly as easy as it looks! Making loads of schoolboy errors but best to learn the hard way!

I guess Stewart makes the point a little more eloquently than I though.

I think her dads doing the right thing and encouraging and supporting his daughter as well as opening her eyes to the real world in a good way.
There are lots of child art prodegies promoted by greedy parents in USA etc where some turn out to not be making the art as it's their parents making it while others do have the natural talent and some child artists rake in tens of thousands of dollars from selling art through galleries and to collectors.
One was featured in the mail (uk newspaper) recently.
The shops a good idea and no one has the right to say who can and cannot set up an online store.

Me Art Monday, by Deleted on Aug 14, 2014 20:08:27 GMT 1,
We're all here because we love art yet how many of us members actually do some ourselves?
All commerce starts out with good intentions and then people realise that materials cost money.
I'm looking forward to Scarlett making a spotted cow stencil to rival your Norwegian Eurovisions stencil contest winning cow stencil that cost a small fortune.
