laser cut stencils?, by Stoko on Feb 13, 2014 22:37:33 GMT 1, I just use 180gm card - after one spray they go solid so can get a good 10-15 sprays per stencil. I know a bloke who cuts by hand using a jig saw, so he can cut 2 sheets of ply with 10 sheets of card between, works out about ยฃ1.25 per stencil, I'm sure he could do you Perspex as long as the image isn't too complicated. Don't be put off by the hand cut aspect, he's amazing; they're works of art in themselves!

laser cut stencils?, by Deleted on Feb 14, 2014 7:00:02 GMT 1, Stencil cutting machine aren't cheap !!
Speaking about this, could you name few stencil artists that only use machine cut stencil ??
Two names in my mind - Logan Hicks (moved to machine recently) and Jeff Aerosol (I guess considering the amount of work and the details of work produced)

laser cut stencils?, by Dr Plip on Feb 14, 2014 17:36:57 GMT 1, Please no offence...but laser cut stencils...seriously? A bit depressing in my eyes...what's next? Spraying robots? Like a drone? A flying drone that could drop paint might be fun? Tag politicians from the air? Or one that could hover and spray on the side of a building or something? Painting out a set pattern or image? Could eliminate scaffolding? Could cut the number of artists falling from cherry pickers? Could be the future?

...uhh, that is good then. Brushes...fancy stuff. And I thought the artist might not be involved in creating the artwork after all.
