GraffitiStreet.com would like to hear from YOU!, by Graffiti Street on Feb 15, 2014 13:21:45 GMT 1, Hi all!
Here at GraffitiStreet HQ we are working very hard on our BIG launch event in June and are taking a very fresh approach as we want to shake up things a bit. We don't just want to be ANOTHER online urban store/gallery, as some of you have so bluntly put it .... and rightfully so ....
We have listened to your comments made in our introduction thread and taken note but we would like to take this one step further by asking YOU the following question:
What do you believe are the most important thing(s) you expect from an online urban art store/gallery?
We welcome YOUR comments as we value YOUR OPINION(S) and will be taking those in consideration!

GraffitiStreet.com would like to hear from YOU!, by bigtlt on Feb 15, 2014 13:40:56 GMT 1, I'd like to see prices on EVERYTHING. Find it really annoying seeing POA everywhere.
Can't be that hard to update prices once a month to keep prices up to date.

GraffitiStreet.com would like to hear from YOU!, by jayTown on Feb 15, 2014 14:00:11 GMT 1, Secure, safe and reliable check out service.
Good range of artists.
Visibility into what's coming up well in advance.
Fair prices.
Mixture of old and new art and artists.
Regular exhibitions.
Options to buy original art in a fair way- not always giving first options to "VIP" customers.

That's a must and as you say we also find that very annoying!
We will not have POA on any of our items. That's a promise!

Agree with the 'Ownart' option as don't always have vast amounts of cash available.

Visibility into what's coming up well in advance. Fair prices. Mixture of old and new art and artists. Regular exhibitions. Options to buy original art in a fair way- not always giving first options to "VIP" customers. I have to agree here. I understand that galleries are businesses and as such they need to strive to maintain a solid customer base and treat their best customers well, but VIP treatment can be so frustrating for those who do not currently receive it. I see a lot of Graffiti Prints twitter and facebook posts about canvasses that I would have bought but were not offered for general sale. Another case in point is the most recent Daleast show. I was in the market for one of the original canvasses and sent a reply within a minute of receiving the pdf just to find out it was already sold. I am not one who thinks that he's entitled to own things, or that they fill a void in my life so it's no big deal, but sometimes the system can be annoying. To be honest, if Laz didn't operate a VIP system I would probably give them about ยฃ10k a year. Now, I am sure that their VIPs spend far more than that on art a year, my revenue would just be a drop in the bucket, and that the pieces I am interested in would sell regardless of my patronage so it is a moot point. It is something for you to consider as it is a bit of a balancing act and your decision as to how you want to run your business while maximizing profits and keeping customers happy.
Oh, and if you do not constantly introduce and promote new artists you are nothing but a bunch of asshole flippers with a web store. (Seriously, no insult intended) If you are London based pop ups are very easy to pull off and are something that many forum members would attend. I really enjoyed the one Graffiti Prints did last summer and I hope to go to more. As a suggestion get Kunstrasen over to do some live work. He needs a show.

GraffitiStreet.com would like to hear from YOU!, by DameHoracia on Feb 15, 2014 16:14:38 GMT 1, Must admit I think Own Art is a great scheme even though I have not used it yet. Good quality service and fast reaction to customers complaints enquiries. Not releasing a print every single week of the year, quality not quantity. Good luck I've used Own Art. Although Own Art was a bit of a hassle (more to do with the gallery) it worked out fine eventually over a payback period of ten months.
Would I do it again? Hmmm not sure as I believe the artwork purchased was overpriced and I should have just paid for it outright to save the hassle of form filling and waiting to be accepted and then chosen a better piece to purchase using the scheme. I do know (NOT that is relevant in this case having just read this thread and read that GS won't be selling Giclees) that Own Art doesn't recognise Giclee print purchase on the scheme even though many galleries promoting OA still seem to sell them. Which is a good thing I believe, unless OA have changed this in their policy, which I hope they haven't.

We strongly believe the price in between using OwnArt vs. paying for it direct should be as close as possible.
We are looking into costs involved etc. but want to obviously make it clear we are not going to implement this with the idea of overpricing our works. The main objective of having that as an addition to our site will be to allow urban art collectors to spread the cost of their purchase and as a result make urban art more affordable (ie. in the case of purchasing originals etc.).
Kind regards,
Rosh / GraffitiStreet

Thanks for your comment!
This is only our second thread on the forum.
The whole idea of this thread is that we want to hear your opinions and find out what you value strongly, in other words this is not about us at all.
We believe it's very important we not only talk but also listen and value all your opinions.
Be rest-assured, we will be more involved on other threads too over time, this is just the beginning.
Kind regards,
Rosh

GraffitiStreet.com would like to hear from YOU!, by jettad on Feb 15, 2014 19:56:29 GMT 1, How about being able to purchase art with multiple payments spread over 2-3 months for those of us who'd buy outside of the UK and can't use the Own Art plan? I've done this with several artists and a couple of UK galleries and without it I would not have been able to buy the prints.

I know that in Norway giclees are not looked at as art (in the VAT laws), but neither is most of Andy Warhols canvases. So the laws are a bit outdated.. Sorry for changing the subject. Got to agree there, must admit that the quality is obvious of that to a screen but if it gets me closer to the artist and i can look at it every day it still does it for me. picked up 3 framed giclees just today.
Why all this hate on giclees? I love my Borf giclees. I know that in Norway giclees are not looked at as art (in the VAT laws), but neither is most of Andy Warhols canvases. GraffitiStreet.com would like to hear from YOU!, by Gulosten on Feb 15, 2014 22:27:56 GMT 1, - Prices on all items - Mix of old and new artists - The possibility to register for an artist, for example Banksy, every time you have a new item by Banksy in stock, one gets an email (will probably give you lots of sales) ;-)

How about we not hear from you for a couple of months . Honestly, your show isn't until June. It's the middle of Feb.
I'm sure you can stir up enough HYPE by waiting until May1st.
