If you had £2k..., by Unica on Apr 3, 2014 4:46:50 GMT 1, I've bought a couple of Swoon edition variants recently for a little more than £2k, they were all handworked and each one in the edition was quite different.

If you had £2k..., by Dice on Apr 3, 2014 13:28:20 GMT 1, If you had £2k give or take to invest in a piece of art what would it be? Thinking about this at the moment so would quite like some inspiration. Main things are a) like the piece b) think it's a good investment. Thoughts at the moment are...Banksy unsigned Weston Super Mare or Dolk Girl with Teddy bear.
If you are looking mainly at investment and thinking of the image as secondary (as long as you don't mind it) then I would avoid Weston super mare and soup cans as they are very uk-centric and have limited appeal worldwide. You wouldn't want to limit your market.
For 2 k you could get a nice Chloe Early original tonight!

If you had £2k..., by JAlternatión on Apr 3, 2014 13:57:07 GMT 1, I'd say Banksy Rat, but maybe that's because I just spent that kind of money on one. Mine was for exactly the same reason... I love the image (it's hanging on the wall already) but also an ISA would offer me 2% interest and I supect that the Banksy will go up more

If you had £2k..., by Neate Michael on Apr 3, 2014 14:14:56 GMT 1, You cannot go wrong with a Banksy print, they will go up in money over time.
But investing in an original is a good idea too. I would think you could get a decent size Dale Marshall for that, who is an artist whose prices are only going one way.
You could also get a decent Rae for that, or many of the other up and coming artists.
Whatson and to a lesser extent Dolk, are hyped on here and won't be worth much in a few years.

If you had £2k..., by nandaman on Apr 3, 2014 15:35:11 GMT 1, I agree with many of the sentiments here. If you went for a Banksy print, I like the more iconic Flying Copper or something, might have to take it to 2500 GBP or more. I'd rather work with an artist and get an original commissioned piece. You can get a Miss Bugs, Eelus, DotDotDot, Alex Diaz, Curiot, etc for about 2k GBP and get an original piece you love - and one that might increase in value, if that's your bag.

If you had £2k..., by Deleted on Apr 3, 2014 16:20:35 GMT 1, If I had 2K i'd buy some Chicken George Zupp originals and maybe a Georgia Red Mud Steven Chandler original.
Failing that Gus Fink who sells on EBay.
Failing that if I was a trainspotter try and get Blek le Rat to do me an original by going to Paris and annoying him.
