pictures that resonate, by Icesay on Mar 27, 2014 21:54:00 GMT 1, I like most people am not immune to the excitement of a new release...the thrill of the chase. But being in a philosophical mood such as i am i am wondering what are those pictures that really resonate in my heart? Forget speculation and investment.... I would start this thread by saying Dolk's Prison Painter. Society paints many of us as prisoners unable to truly be free. What are your favourite pictures? What do they mean to you? Speak from the heart or not at all.....

Just a perfect reminder of the talent of Adam Neate.Have almost all his prints and each one really conveys a different emotion, thus different reactions
I'm in the deep end, when in the deep end you must keep kicking

pictures that resonate, by curiousgeorge on Mar 27, 2014 23:30:31 GMT 1, I've known to be a bit of night-owl on occasion and this one makes me feel warm, proud and isolated in equal measure. Made some good connections and done some great work, working through the small wee hours with time differences etc

The picture shows a pretty house. And a nice car. But it is horribly sad. I don't think there is anyone home.

Something a bit Amityville about that one...pretty cold.

pictures that resonate, by .dappy on Mar 28, 2014 0:45:56 GMT 1, I was very young when my parents woke me up to watch 'the first man landing on the moon' back in '69 on our b&w TV. I remember my dad saying to me that this was an historic moment and that I could say that I had watched it!
Ever since then, space and the journey into it with voyager, various space stations, the hubble telescope, the excitement and wonderment of the first Columbia and other space shuttle flights etc etc has always been fantastic in my eyes. I know that I will never (never say never ) be able to get into space, but my son may be able too.
That is why, when I first saw Eternal Refection on metal by MW, I knew that I had to have it. I was able to contact Martin direct those few years ago now. He loved the sentiment, and that I wanted to give this piece to my son. He wrote a personal dedication on the piece that is just beautiful. My son is now old enough to be able to understand what the piece says and realises that it is for him.
(if you want me to post a couple of pictures of the piece - just ask )

pictures that resonate, by Someones Brain on Mar 28, 2014 9:52:25 GMT 1, Reading those posts shows that it is more a personal experience, mood or story rather that a certain image/picture that makes pieces of art special to the individual viewer (at least in the sense that was meant in icesay's first post). Taking that into account I'd say one of the pics that still works for me is not urban art but a gigposter that perfectly sums up the early 90s as I remember them: . I know it's not urban, street or whatever art, but I have it framed at my wall and it makes me smile every day. It's that easy.
