What else do you collect?, by jfiks on Aug 21, 2016 5:31:18 GMT 1, nice! just curious how much something like this costs? Don't tell the missus but it was about ยฃ1350 or so. Sweet Bike!
I still have my Baby Blue Hutch Trickstar from back in the day. I used to Freestyle quite a bit back in the day and even had a few small sponsors.
I bought it from Rockville BMX sometime in the late 80s. Woody Itson bars, Redline cranks, snake neck seat post, Peregrine 48 rims with a custom coaster brake hub (took the hub from a Z-Rim).
I'm thinking I need to take it out of storage and start riding again.

What else do you collect?, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Aug 21, 2016 6:14:52 GMT 1, I went to my first antique fair the other day and I am Hooked! we made it a family day and told the kids they can get an old toy each. Came home with a Chinese brass abacus for the kids for $15 and I clocked one of the worlds finest tennis racquet in a basket, a Dunlop max200G, original grip, strings and cover. The guy told me $50, I walked off and got my wife (top negotiater) to go back and she got it for $35
On the way home she said first you get addicted to art now this

Gotta agree, unless you stick to a specific genre or style you will be skint, buying something cos you like it is fine but there is a reason it is still for sale and they move heavily on prices, cos it's worth nothing, art is great to view regardless of value, vintage toot is not the same, it fills your house shed garage spare rooms then you end up doing boot sales (yard sales) because the nostalgic moment has passed and nobody buys it, then you have had it for so long you have to give it away, then after 10 years of this cycle and the Internet taking over devaluing everything you give it all to charity feel good about yourselves and move to a better part of the country where materialistic money grabbing car booting people don't exist and you are glad you've got out of that spiralling money pit,
Just sayin.........
So glad I found art instead

What else do you collect?, by Pattycakes on Aug 21, 2016 9:14:19 GMT 1, I also collect shoes, all from Jeffery West. I bought my first pair with my first paycheque in 1999, sort of haven't stopped since then. At one stage I bought a pair a month, these days, It's only a few pairs a year, still at last count I had 124 pairs - gulp.

They are just about to release 1/6 scale judge dredd (29th) They look great but I couldn't imagine having these on a shelf and my son not being able to play with them. Mate of mine collects Lego sets and has a room full of them but a no go zone for the kids.

Am not a fan of knives or swords so will be happy to get them out of the house.
