Really appreciate the encouragement gentlemen, it really means a lot to me to hear your positive feedback! I had a couple of images in the NY Times, including this one:
I've been exhibited at the Museo del Barrio, SoHo Photo Gallery, Rayko Photo Center, and have had my work in a couple of magazines.
Since I photograph purely as a hobby, I've not sold any of my work. I like Polaroid because it is a singular picture that can't be reproduced, Photoshopped, or cropped. So it would be very difficult for me to part with an original.

Also his new work is amazing. [...] Dave Schubert I've never seen this image before, and smiled at the Police Story tattoo. Interesting that the speech bubble was left blank. Yes this is a portrait of Dash Snow a Respected Graffiti artist who was also documented his life through Polaroids and photography he was involved with Deitch early on and passed away young, this photo is iconic in that it was not just a portrait but summed up how he passed away in a tub and around what he loved.
Here is some Dash Snow Photographs but most of his stuff is pretty hardcore documenting a crazy lifestyle

Understood but if you were able to reproduce the images somehow (whilst retaining the original) - I know nothing about science behind it - I'm sure you'd find some interest. That first piece with the 5 on it for example, I'd pick up a small reproduction of the original if I saw it.

Photography Fans?, by Mirus Gallery Poesia on Feb 12, 2015 23:41:32 GMT 1, im a fan of photography, but a little unorthodox photography though. A friend of mine got me into photography and really changed my perspective on it, especially with these three artists. I have three artists up on my walls right now and am really lucky. I have a John Houck piece, and he is known for his concepts of pixilation within photography. He takes a color combination and runs it through a software program he developed. The software breaks down those color combinations within a grid and it gives every possible combination for the color set. He then folds those prints and photographs them again. The final product is fantastic: a closeup of what these aggregate pieces look like: I am also a big fan or Mariah Robertson. Her work with photography is pretty incredible and it is endemic. The chemicals that she uses are highly toxic, poisonous, and in a lot of cases, becoming outlawed. She needs to wear a hazmat suit just to make her work. But my favorite of the three is Mathew Brandt. He challenges viewers to really ask themselves what photography is and what it can be through what he exposes the work with. He also places a lot of the subjects IN the photography with either parts of the subject or odd substances. he exposes his photographs with Gummy bears, cocaine, dog s**t, whale sperm, ketchup and mustard, human blood, urine, taffy taffy, chocolate, among other things. He describes his studio as a really messy project room. He is prob best known for his Lakes and Reservoir series where he photographed lakes, collected water, exposed the pictures, but then soaked the exposure into the lake water he collected. The acidity of the water transformed the photos into crazy patterns. heres yosemite's el capitan in gummy bears: same image in Cake Frosting: here is a piece that he created from dust he collected from a building before it was knocked down I find it remarkable that he places a lot of his subjects in the work like that.... Thanks for sharing really like the first artists work. There are many talented painters starting to utilize digital photography in their work as of late. Here is an artist who is an great painter but has been experimenting with photography and a hybrid of them both.
Thomas Bestvina
Then Hybrid pieces with painting

Keep them coming. Glad people are appreciative bumping thread, As I stated earlier I have started to really appreciate photography more as an art medium. It seems that in the US we are maybe a bit behind on things as I hear in Europe germany, switzerland etc they have a bigger appreciation for it.
Side note just uploaded some backroom photos of Dave schubert if anyone is interested, I am working on a show with him in March of all newer work looking forward to sprinkle in some photography shows in 2015.

I was a pro shooter (cinematographer actually) but have since moved on. Currently shoot for fun on: Canon 5d w/ assortment of LSeries Lenses (for Digital) Canon AE1 (for 35mm) Diana+ 120 (because its cool as s**t) Arri Alexa (work) Red Epic Dragon (work)

You may have seen the documentary about him or his story in the press. A brief story here from Channel 4 news. Essentially Giles considers himself a story teller. No airs, no graces, no bullshit, art as it should be. This guy is a shining example of what it is to be human. Self portrait below

I haven't collected much, but do have Michael Kenna piece. If anyone is interested in it let me know, edition of 45, signed, full provenance and framed. Have seen it in galleries approaching 4k USD (link) but would take significantly less.
