I don't understand Banksy/Artificial Gallery, by Ruggs on Jun 17, 2014 10:11:03 GMT 1, The Bust of a Priest (defaced) isn't for sale. Just using as an example of pieces they're interested in purchasing.

I don't understand Banksy/Artificial Gallery, by Poppy Sunshine on Jun 17, 2014 11:28:02 GMT 1, I've always loved that safe. I think someone dropped a massive b*llock cleaning it up though. Surely it would have been best left in its original state as per page 100 of wall and piece.
IMHO anyway.

Just using as an example of pieces they're interested in purchasing. The priest bust is the sort of thing Dali would have made and has reference to some of Dali's art and sculpture.
Intentional or not, who knows.
Dali did most of the things that Hirst and others did later on.
A lot of todays art is going backwards not forwards.

Think it more a reference to modern day pixelation to hide an identity. Think it more likely references the church hiding the identity of priests involved in messing around with young boys than a Dali reference. Particularly given to Liverpool which has very strong catholic roots. I also don't think it references to Invader either. Just my thoughts on this

I don't understand Banksy/Artificial Gallery, by lucky7 on Jun 18, 2014 14:46:15 GMT 1, Art is the human science of being. And it's primary mission is to advace human
I thought that the "science" of being was Ontology. But even if Art's mision was to advance human, that doesn't mean it has to go forward. A car in reverse can make you go forward if you point it in the right direction.
I personally like my art zigzagging in every direction.
