Artists - canvas suppliers, by Stoko on Jul 23, 2014 17:51:16 GMT 1, Used Hobbycraft for a few try outs and they were rubbish, dented or mis shaped frames. Granthams seem the best/most reputable high street outlet, will give them a try rather than risk ebay or similar. Don't really know what I'm buying, seems to be a big range in prices so I assume theres a similar range in quality. Cotton will do, spraying on linen would be a waste but apart from that I'm guessing anything around a fiver a canvas would be reasonable quality.

Artists - canvas suppliers, by Feral Things on Jul 23, 2014 18:52:26 GMT 1, If you're looking for really good quality canvases then I would highly recommend Harris Moore, but Windsor and Newton's Deep Edge canvases are a reasonable compromise between price and quality and CASS Art currently have c.50% off. Broadly speaking, you've got two choices; cotton vs. linen and primed vs. unprimed. If you're just starting out then a primed, cotton canvas will probably be your best bet. I hope you decide to share your work on the forum.

Artists - canvas suppliers, by Stoko on Jul 23, 2014 21:12:28 GMT 1, Thanks you lot, I was looking at art discount artobox and I know you have practical experience in this area so I reckon I'll give them a bash. Am on a tight budget as I want to knock these out as cheap as possible - I have about 12 pre orders and want to do a run of about 25 and Im planning on getting them out for no more than ยฃ20 as a thanks to my mates who have supported me in advance so I reckon under ยฃ3 a canvas is worth a punt. Cheers for all the advice; as ever this forum never lets me downโฆ

Artists - canvas suppliers, by Stoko on Sept 3, 2014 21:43:46 GMT 1, Right if anyone is interested I've used the site artobox recommended and these canvases are great - well packed, chunky as most lasses in Blackpool and well primed.
