penny , by The Jokers Puppet on Sept 19, 2014 9:23:38 GMT 1, Like the framing on these. I was wondering whether to do something similar with the Lucite (?) plastic covering on mine but was worried that the stencil work would be touching the front panel. Not a problem if you always keep it in there but could be an issue if you ever removed. Has anyone tried doing this with theirs? They would look even cool without the white frame

While an interesting way to frame, the materials used were most likely standard sizing/ store bought... possibly for an 8" x 10" frame. You can tell as the bills are not equally spaced on top and bottom. If the art is touching the glass/plexi (which I can only assume they are) these should be removed from frame immediately even if you have no plan on keeping it there. From what I remember, Japanese bills are not made of cotton like many other currencies are so who knows what might happen with moisture.

Clearly these have been framed this way in order to by hung but I think you are right about Japanese notes. Even if the note survives the stencil work will eventually stick to the glass. The notes just don't look so good framed with a mount.
