Best Portfolio to store prints?? ADVICE anyone??, by valentina on Sept 25, 2014 3:06:09 GMT 1, Hey guys,
Looking into best way to store my prints? I looked at a few portfolios online/amazon. Can't really find a good one with acid free sleeves? I thought these things would be everywhere...
Anyone have any recommendations? My stuff is kinda all over the place - I really need to get my collection under control.
Cheers,
John

Best Portfolio to store prints?? ADVICE anyone??, by behaviorist on Sept 25, 2014 5:22:53 GMT 1, check out the Itoya line, available on amazon and elsewhere. acid free, archival. easy to store. they run in all size, but don't cover the largest prints out there.

Best Portfolio to store prints?? ADVICE anyone??, by Someones Brain on Sept 25, 2014 15:31:39 GMT 1, The best way to store your prints is getting them framed and up on the wall... I get what you want to say but the best way to STORE prints actually is to store them. For preserving (or storing) putting them in a frame and up on the wall is only the second best opinion (even if you choose archival framing). On the other hand, it's of course much better to have them on the wall for enjoyment than to have them stored away ...

I would think that putting them in an frame (professionally done) would preserve the prints way better than sticking them in a folio (that could damage the prints when you are opening and closing it, or while storing other prints). Behing in a air tight frame behind museum grade glass, framed to conservation standard would be my first choice.... Even above a portfolio.
Note : This comes from a guy who has several prints in a portfolio (And is VERY embarrassed about that)
