Interesting Times..., by sgolby on Oct 4, 2014 3:37:19 GMT 1, Thank you for the original post and all the comments that have been made...I am a relatively new member to this forum -wanted to share my prospective on the topic you raise as someone who is new to the site this year (although I have been collecting for a bit and yes, it would be crazy to say that on some level future investment doesn't have anything to do with some of my art purchases- but I only buy what i want to keep and like) ...I am on this site on a daily basis and I absolutely look at the for sale and wanted section. I have bought a few things from members and each of those experiences has been good - never even attempted to sell anything on this site....I have to say I am very cautious about making any posts - despite the fact that the limited number of posts is something that many hold against members in terms of buying or selling. I think that there is some really great information on this site - love reading the articles, looking at the pictures of others collections, being exposed to other different artists... One reason is that while I definitely consider Urban/Street art a love, hobby ...obsession ...I don't have a degree in art and I only know really what I have learned on the internet and my limited exposure to art prior to my exposure to this type of art work..so I read the discussions and absorb what others have to offer (even if I don't necessarily agree with their opinions) ...There are definitely some good people on this site that have great knowledge and can be quite kind... However, there are a plethora of people who talk out of their rears and those who seem to have some desire to just look for any and every opportunity to pounce on someone. The hyping of some artists/releases and the many "experts" on the pricing, popularity, future of artists ...is totally annoying - but I guess there will always be that type of thing when you have a bunch of people with different personalities - so I just try to ignore it and occasionally make a rude comment to myself about what wankers some of the members are... Just my opinions obviously.. There is a lot to learn from the commentary and members on this site and I am glad you guys are here... Well said Mega.
