High Quality Picture Hanging Systems / Lighting, by Cardiff on Oct 27, 2014 18:01:06 GMT 1, Hey all,
I'm in the design stages of a remodel on my house and part of the project will be refinishing my drywall with a smooth finish. As such, I would like to incorporate a gallery-like lighting and art-hanging system (my current walls are covered with nail holes from all the art changing/re-hanging, etc. and my lighting consists of directional LED spots that have been retrofitted into my existing can lights). I was curious to know if any of you had experience with systems you really liked or didn't like. I'm looking for something very subtle/minimalistic/modern and easy to use (I like to move my art around and change out pieces regularly). Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Travis

High Quality Picture Hanging Systems / Lighting, by Aza on Oct 27, 2014 18:05:14 GMT 1, I recently ordered a free catalogue from here: www.lionpic.co.uk/moulding.aspx
They have quite a few systems with really great photos showing how it all works. Definitely recommend a free catalogue to browse through.

High Quality Picture Hanging Systems / Lighting, by Cardiff on Oct 28, 2014 16:12:20 GMT 1, Thanks for the feedback Aza/Delloyโฆwill definitely check both out. I remember seeing a product that was designed more like an integrated vertical channel (flush mounted in the drywall so you could raise/lower the height)โฆanyone familiar with who makes those? I like that they would be more minimal than the cable hanging systems.
Also, anyone used art-specific lighting in their homes? Something like Phantomโฆ
Phantom Art Lighting
I'm curious to know the benefits over standard spotsโฆare you better able to "shape" the light to the art? Is the UV from normal spots significantly worse/more damaging? Is the overall aesthetic noticeably different? Is it just a marketing ploy? Any feedback would be appreciated. I don't have an incredibly valuable art collection that I'm worried aboutโฆjust love the impact of proper art lighting and figured I should consider reconfiguring my set up while my walls/ceilings are torn up.

High Quality Picture Hanging Systems / Lighting, by Cardiff on Jul 17, 2017 20:04:03 GMT 1, Hi,
Shocking to look back and realize I posted this almost three years ago and my project is just being finished. Anyway, I thought I'd check in to see if anyone had any other recommendations for a high quality art hanging system that is...
1. Stealth...hoping I can find something that fits into a minimalist/modern aesthetic. 2. Easy to use and change up for new pieces...I move pieces around a lot 3. Quality...needs to be able to hold up heavy pieces in the SoCal earthquake environment
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Im on the same level, my walls was painted a year ago and looks like cheeses now, and I hate the gallery wire system.
