What is the Absolute easiest way to store a print?, by lucky7 on Nov 25, 2014 16:01:35 GMT 1, At the moment I have no access to specialty stores, art stores, internet stores etc... I need to store a print however. Is there anyway to do this? Is there any other material that can act as acidfree paper or fancy space age plasticky sleeve? Glass, cotton sheets, toilet paper, wood, etc? Come on people, help me think outside the box? How can I store my prints on the cheap and easy?

What is the Absolute easiest way to store a print?, by Trevorm on Nov 25, 2014 16:31:26 GMT 1, If he's near me all he has to do is pop round and let me look after them.
Loads of room at my gaff - and the Mrs don't mind, much

What is the Absolute easiest way to store a print?, by randomname on Nov 25, 2014 16:47:11 GMT 1, The easiest way is to leave it in the tube. That's not the best way, mind you. It just takes no effort at all. Aside from that, you don't need a specialty store. Just go to any office supply store like Staples and buy a roll of acid free kraft paper and a couple sheets of poster board or foam core.
Sandwich the print between the poster board between two sheets of kraft paper and tape it shut.

What is the Absolute easiest way to store a print?, by ben3486 on Nov 25, 2014 22:36:10 GMT 1, If you're in the uk then the range usually has a1 foam board in. Two of those and store between. Seperate prints with acid free craft paper the prints usually come in the tube with.
I got four bits for ten quid.

I used this method initially and have since splashed out on acid free sleeves and proper folders but with a couple of good bulldog clips those foam boards worked well.

What is the Absolute easiest way to store a print?, by Deleted on Nov 25, 2014 23:24:27 GMT 1, the big things is avoid handling the feckers- this what kills them - I have a big toob - about 5ft by 1ft across that I use for storing good big stuff and is nearly buletproof. the very light rolling doesnt seem to do them any harm.having them lying about the place , even flat, if you have kids is a recipie for disaster
having good folders with acid free stiffeners is a good un, but as you said, you dont have access to an art shop

Thanks. I'll drop em off at your house today. It's nothing much, just my Nazi memorabilia and porn posters collection.

Is all Kraft paper acidfree? Can I go to any store, buy any nondescript roll of Kraftpaper and use that?
Is all mountboard acidfree?
