Nick Gentry Art for reasonable prices???, by davievegas on Dec 3, 2014 19:18:37 GMT 1, This is the guy who makes art with floppy disks. His work is amazing BUT over expensive is putting it politely. Does anyone know if this guy sells anything small for a reasonable price? Its absurd to buy his art for his prices which are like $10k+. If I would spend that type of money on art, it would be banksy or warhol etc. Seems to be only originals from this guy

Nick Gentry Art for reasonable prices???, by davievegas on Dec 3, 2014 19:26:29 GMT 1, Agreed I just went to the Robert Fontaine Gallery in Miami, they had a lot of his work and nothing I could see below $10k. I would rather have a Banksy. Exactly!!! I feel the same way. It is just a shame that artists make art that is impossible to collect in a sense because of price. For this type of money, I would rather buy an artist that I know is an investment.

Nick Gentry Art for reasonable prices???, by Unica on Dec 3, 2014 19:31:19 GMT 1, Thats my mindset, since I only have limited funds and if necessary I need to know I would get my money back in a pinch. Banksy is cash, plus I love his art, particularly this image. I suppose if money was no object I could take more of a gamble on artists that I like. Sadly i'm not able to do that and have to play it a bit safe when buying expensive art.

We all have to be conscious of what we buy when it comes to art because of the prices and so forth. I look at art as an investment. I love to collect personal artists that I like BUT you get stuck between and rock and a hard place sometimes because of the budget that we each have to buy art. Obviously it varies from person to person BUT I feel that the majority feels the same way as we do.
