Best street artist, by dashboll on Dec 14, 2014 11:15:31 GMT 1, Had a couple of posts with dibbs about favourite street artists. I'm fairly new to street art and would love to get more under the skin.
So, question is, which one street artist should a newbie be looking at to best open their eyes to the world of street art? You can only choose one, more of a challenge that way!

Best street artist, by Lroy on Dec 14, 2014 11:50:47 GMT 1, It is a strange question. Street-art is like music, there is so many different styles ! Stencilers, graffiti, old school, " makers of prints ", painters, etc... Banksy will answer a lot, even if we don't see him a lot, but October month was great.
Only one thing, for me, pastes in the streets are often a bit disapointing in real, and for me it is not street art : no risks, no police, etc...
Well, for me, the best street-artist of the year is Manuel Neuer.

Best street artist, by Dungle on Dec 14, 2014 11:52:00 GMT 1, For me harrington's street stuff is just different class. The scale and quality of the pieces can't be matched.
Also I would say Borondo is doing some pretty incredible street work. Using different skills not seen before.

A lot of amazing artists have done this on the pavement, and it looks more " technical " than invenitve... Some of the very best painters coming from art schools could do it, and it's exist since centuries... But the crocodile is awesome I recognize...
I don't like this kind of stuff per example :

It's a great time to be alive isn't it, real art in the most amazing accessible form. It's time to strip out galleries and start again, getting people engaged in something that actually says something

It's a beautiful piece and still the first I think of when I think of the Etam Cru.

Best street artist, by Sohoria on Dec 16, 2014 22:31:10 GMT 1, People will flame me, and he is a superb artist but Borondo reminds me too much of the master Guy Denning. Borondo works street pieces very well though.
I'm going to go with Blu for international level.
Works in Bogota for the time really had impact before things got popular. No discredit to anyone else but masterful in his execution.
Adam Neate for his placement too, I sometimes think people forget how amazing his street pieces in the past amazed everyone.
Dare I say it? Dface... Before what he does now but back in the day he could get this forum busy

IMO he has one of the more refreshing styles these days.

And they have sold prints - two that I can think of. And, of course, the individual members sell their own work too. All are superb.
