For sales threads - new stringent rules, by Deleted on Apr 26, 2015 0:30:36 GMT 1, After making an offer for a Banksy that was described as 'mint', with no further information given in it's for sale topic, and later finding out that the seller did not even check the condition of the print before putting it up for sale here, but had it still rolled in a tube (for years) and when it came out it had a major dink in it, I think it's about time this board implements some stringent rules if you are to sell your art on this website.
It shouldn't be too hard. Here's what a sale topic should at least contain:
If this would just be made a general rule, and any FS thread that doesn't follow these stringent guidelines if just instantly deleted by the forum guardians, it would save a LOT of people a LOT of time and frustration.

Some of these are asked when you make a sales thread. create one and you will see the options. I'd estimate 1 in 10 prints are in top condition and that's being generous. It is the buyers responsibility to ask for pictures front and back or have a 3rd party inspect it. If in London I highly recommend John Jones, as many sellers do not know how or just don't want to open up their frames.

Not every member is going to abide by the set rules. However, as a potential buyer of anything that is for sale, it is YOUR responsibility to ask the pertinent questions!

This is a classic case of a print getting overly singed. when it gets to thr point of saturation, the print gets dincked. It would have been called 'humped' but thats a totally different print condition. Quite common.

For sales threads - new stringent rules, by Deleted on Apr 26, 2015 11:39:43 GMT 1, vot iz dink?
Boris der eez deenk in tub viv Beenski picture een it.
Do not vorry Natalia, I pay exterminator ve kill deenk.
It might be better to make a set of suggestions and tips about what to do when buying rather than rules holding sellers to account.
That way it absolves the forum of any negative vibes if someone sells via the forum and someone buys via the forum and is unhappy with their purchase.
Also if a set of tips or for rules are posted it is up to the buyer to ask all the right questions and do not buy unless totally satisfied.
How many sellers are actually just after money and once sold they don't care?
Lot's if one looks at second hand cars.
In that respect, if someone is selling for a good or low price then do not be too fast to grab it believing you can make a good profit or investment.
Tips for buying could include.
When and wheer they purchased from.
Provenace and certificates of authenticity issued by who?
Any imperfections with clear photos back and front and corners and showing the signiature etc if any.
and others that people will add.
Plus don't forget it's easy for someone to send images of a minty printy and to send a less minty printy via the postal service.

Buyer beware and all that
'Its Immaculate mate', go to view it and it has a few minor tape marks on the back, wouldn't worry me, as i don't see the back. Others couldn't cope with it
